Should I buy a pair of add-a-leafs, or just save up and buy a new spring pack? Which one is "better?" And if anybody knows where to get some fairly cheaper (< $400) Thanks.

a new pack will be all new and made to to something specific and do just that. an add a leaf is just gonna add a little bit of new goodness to your 10yr old worn out leaf pack, it might give good results but might not, depends how shot your old pack is.

Having had both AAL and a leaf pack, save for the leaf pack. I regret getting the AAL and not the pack.

Also, argument could be made for your driving habits, needs, towing, hauling etc. That would help us answer your question

What do your current leafs look like and what's your intention? For height/added capacity an AAL could be perfect if your leaf pack is in good shape. If it's sagging already, a new pack is a better bet. Most aftermarket leaf packs are designed for a specific purpose so your intended usage really dictates what the proper decision is.

I vote for new leafs. Dakars are great do it all glad I got them.
If you are getting a full kit OEM parts all work together.
Most leafs are going to raise the back so you may need to get a full kit...

x2. I figured I would get an aal to save a buck. It ended up costing more as a new pack came shortly thereafter. My aal was too stiff for my liking

Same  you live and you learn. That's why I'm on all these suspension threads with OP's trying to decide between AAL and a new pack. Just trying to share my experience and hopefully help some people out!

    Getting there...
Depending on how much lift you want and how much weight you carry, I'd advise pulling the 3rd leaf in Dakars to soften them up a bit if you don't carry much weight around all of the time. I pulled one of the overloads because I didn't want the full lift it would give me and the rear is pretty stiff. Even with 100lbs in the back, the rear can't keep up with the front lol
