Moving to Arizona? Visit this Thread!

Thinking about moving out to Phoenix. This cold weather is really starting to mess with my back. I live in an apartment now, how are the rents out there?

Usually you can find a house cheaper than an apartment for rent.

 

I think I'm going to spend a couple days out there and see what part of Phoenix I'd like to move to. Are there any neighborhoods to stay away from?

Any other parts of Arizona I should look at? I don't care if I ever see snow again. Back surgery sucks.

I liked the west side personally. So Glendale Peoria surprise area. Chandler is nice too. Scottsdale is nice I just hate all the rich people that cut you off then flip you off or park sideways. Haha

Hey Andrew (snow), looks like I'll be up in your neck of the woods over 4th of July (along with half of AZ). Not sure if I'll have my truck, but hopefully I can spot ya this time!

 

Oh nice. Well let me know maybe we can grab a beer. I will be working all weekend but have nights free. I have a black txpro with a rtt. And you might spot my wife too. She has a white dcsb with 6" lift and pink badges.

 

How is Tempe? Are there parts around Phoenix that get cold during the Winter (higher elevations)? I'd like to stay away from them. Also what about humidity?

 

No the entire valley stays pretty much the same till you start heading north towards flagstaff sedona payson or show low. We get the snow. The humidity is pretty much mon existent until the monsoons set in then its just a couple of days that suck otherwise its just a dry heat. Trmpe overall is nice. There are some ghetto places in tempe but overall a nice place.

 

Has to be better than the 95 degree days with 90% humidity we sometimes get.

 

Oro Valley or Tucson == high desert. good places to be

 

Oh it is. Just find a place with a pool or be next to the lake and you will be happy you did.

 

Most if not all of the apartments I'm looking at have pools. Not sure how clean they are.

 

Lmao. They should have pools. But look at houses too. You can usually get a nice house to rent for the same price usually. It just takes some looking around. And most pools are pretty damn clean here too. Oh and if you end up with an apartment make sure their pool is 24 hours. When its still 100 degrees at midnight its nice to go swimming

 

Be careful if looking to rent a house... There are still a lot of scumbags renting their house as it is going into foreclosure. You lay down first & last and get all your services hooked up and the 2nd week you are living in it somebody comes and tapes a foreclosure sale document to the door.

Happened to my sister. She was renting a house with a friend in San Francisco , house went up for sale and she had to move back to Connecticut because it's so damn expensive out there.
That's why I'd rather find an apartment building to move into. Just not sure which neighborhoods I should stay away from. My present apartment complex is nice, quiet neighbors who say hello if they see you.
