Sorry to bust in here but I've got a question. I'm in northeast NJ and I'm looking for a place to trail ride with my stock TRD Off-road 04/5-speed. I've resigned myself to the fact there's nothing in my part of the state, but Rausch is just a little too far to go on a regular basis and a bit too much money as well. 5 hours driving there and back, then the time on the trails just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I've heard of Stokes and some place up near Wharton, and someone mentioned a place just across the PA state line as well, but I'm really not sure what's what.

Any tips? Never been off-road in my life before so I'm not looking for deep mud or rock walls, but would like something that's more than my wife's Honda Accord could drive through. Any thoughts?

Just hired someone to widen my drive way and repave the whole thing. its going to be nice to not have to park on the grass anymore!

yea stokes is your best bet. theres a couple guys that live up that way that can probably give you some advice.

Thanks guys. I doubt I'll be a hardcore wheeler, but I figured that since it took me 6 weeks to find a TRD Off-Road with a 5 speed stick, I may as well do something more with it than a couple of snowy 3-miles commutes in February <g>. You folks got some awesome machines, no question about that!

Uhh... You sure you got a trd or? 5 speed isn't an option in that trim

Always throw it to you guys first, for sale stock spare tire from O/R never mounted 265/70/16 for $50. Let me know any interest. Gona post up but/sell/trade in a few days.

That's a great price...shame you're not in MA...I'd pick it up as a spare for my winter set (and to have an excuse to rock black steelies in the winter as well.)

Yep. Last year of 1st Gen: 2004, 5-speed, twin-stick 3 5VZ-FE with the TRD off-road, skid plates, E-locker in the back, etc. Black. Nice lookin' truck, too, if I do say so myself .

I like it <g>. Nothing fancy, just factory everything except I mounted a police scanner and a nice aftermarket Alpine deck in 'er. I'll post pics innabit. Only mods I'm thinking about doing are the grey wire and blue plug mods (not that I really have use for either one--more just cuz kinda thing.

I'm not particularly handy with tools although I have a great mechanic...but he's only interested in very basic maintenance, not modding in any way. Since there's a dearth of trails anywhere near me I don't think I'll be putting a lot of customization into 'er either. At least not until I can find a way to make them worthwhile.

Any thoughts on little simple stuff I could do that could improve things over factory? I don't have any tools except some Crapsman socket sets and some good wrenches. No air tools, lifts, jackstands, ramps, etc.
