you ever thought about painting your coils orange? Old man doug painted his red I think. Not saying you should do it, it may be too much orange for your taste, but just an idea

So you're saying it leaked when it was stored with the cover on? Or it leaked after it was set up? Either way, not good. Did you spray it down with water when you set it up to let the stitching expand?

I just got word Bobby isn't getting any more shastas shipped from China until the 20th. Which would put me out until at least the 14th of July which will be two days into the week long trip I have planned....I shouldn't have turned down that tent :frusty:

    Everything is locked haha
Nah, probably too much for my taste.
Got rained on while it was stored with the cover on the back of the truck. I opened it up and the left side of the mattress was wet due to water getting in at the hole where the tents hinge is.

What do you mean by spraying it with water after setup?

    That sucks man :(

When you first get your CVT Roof Top Tent we recommend that you lightly spray the tent with water including the fly. This will allow the thread and the fabric to swell up and seal holes in your tent from the sewing needle.

When the fabric is sewn together the thread that is used is also poly-cotton, and expandable and because it has the ability to absorb liquid, when it does it increases and fills the holes created by the sewing needle.

    Directly from their FAQ.

Either way I dont think it should have gotten wet if it was covered...Unless it was blowing 100mph WITH rain...

This happens to my tent in snow storms. That flap is just a dumb design.

Yeah, I guess where the zipper ends at the two points is an easy spot for moisture to get in :notsure:
