    Hey Guys,

So I am doing a lot of improvements on my truck now that I am home for college. I am looking to replace my leaf springs on my truck. I want to purchase them from http://www.generalspringkc.com/

I need some help however in finding all the things I need to replace the springs.
The springs do come with bushings, but I figured I need new U bolts, as well, can someone tell me what size of ubolt to purchase?

    http://www.generalspringkc.com/U_Bolts_s/1964.htm

Also I think I want to replace the I-bolts as well...

Lastly, the preparation for putting now springs in, my springs and bolts have the typical rust on them, would it be helpful to spray these connections with liquid-wrench?

I just need a rundown as to what I need to complete this project

    Thanks,

    Tom

    "Hey Thomas,

The u bolts are dependent on if you are doing the standard replacements or heavy duty. For the standard replacements they are 9/16 rod, square bend, 2-1/2 inside to inside and 6 for length. If doing the heavy duty then everything is the same except the length will be 7 instead of 6. As far as the eye bolts they are a 14 x 110 mm grade 10.9 bolt. Any more questions feel free to email or call.

This is what General Spring sent me today, so it must be accurate! Only thing was was I bolt size if anyone else can confirm this is correct?

Do I replace the shackles on the truck as well? or does it depend on the amount of rust?
