Negative, you don't need to take the whole cv out. Just where it leaks. The two bolts on the bottom of the spindle will let you pull the cv out from the diff

 

Just make sure you don't pull the bearings out of its sockets lol

Need new holes to bolt the new skid up too. Two in the frame, two in the cross member and two in the ifs skid.

After I remove the 2 lower ball joint bolts that hold the spindle to the LCA is there anything else that needs to be removed to slide the CV out? It is proving to be a PITA so far.

 

I used a 3' pry bar and both mine came right out. I just spin the cv every time I pry in a spot

 

Nope. Just pry between diff and cv.
