I wanted to get some opinions on a new muffler. I currently have a Magnaflow muffler on my truck now, but my neighbors continually complain that it's too loud at night (an argument for another day). That being said what muffler sounds quiet on the low-end, wakes up in the middle/top, and still offers good performance? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like your neighbors have an incorrect opinion.
It's been a while since I've heard or discussed them, but I think Flowmaster 50 series (I know, they're specifically for bigger engines) could possibly be along the lines of what you're looking for. Not sure what the change in engine size would do to the sound but they seem to have prevalent mids and highs.

How about just opinions. Is the muffler legal in your state? Maybe drive like grandpa in neighborhood. Buy the neighbors some ear muffs. Maybe some booze. Honestly though, I know the magnaflow is fairly audible. I really can't say what muffler to use because I run stock muffler.(sneak up on a deer quiet)lol

As far as I know, the muffler is perfectly legal. I try to drive as slowly as i can in the neighborhood, literally coasting from the entrance to my driveway...

My neighbors said they can hear me coming from way down the road. I have headers, no cats, and a dumped aero turbine under my cab. It's loud as shit. But zero fucks are all I give.

I'm legal in Iowa. Not legal in a lot of states though.
