What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

HA! I guess I should have looked at a picture before putting it on!
I'll flip it tomorrow and see if it's any better

 

I finished my bumper and now I'm starting my skid plates, I've searched for pics but didn't really find what I need, can anyone post a pick of their truck with plate bumper and skids? I need a head on shot and side shot. thanks.

 

Also anyone have a pic of lca skids uninstalled?

I'm planning out my skids and want to see how others have done the lca skids.

My ball joints could use some help, moab was rough on them...


but other than that...maintenance is done, oil changed, mods finished, and the truck is one capable pig waiting to go play.

so for the first time in a while, I dont need to actually do anything to the truck, and I can take it out and just enjoy playing with it

think there is only one way..

BAMF is the only LCA skid out there..you have do drill the LCAs to fit bolts and then you're good. Far as i know..

I'm pretty sure there are others, I figure they're pretty simple just wanted to see one.

 

i have never seen any others.

LT LCAs all have them more or less built in..only other thing i have seen.

 

Yeah i just looked and thats all I found, if I was buying a set i would for sure be going with bamf. Only reason I'm building a set is cause I'm doing the rest of them so why not.

 

I don't think there's 1/2'' flex between the shackles and the leafs.

 

was a write up on here somewhere about a few dudes doing it..

 

I ended up not mounting my 33 there because of clearance between the front edge of the tire and the back of the diff. Looked to me like it could hit if the diff came up that high.

edit: Now tat I think about it, I did have the bamf diff diaper mounted and it adds about 1/2" of depth to the diff

 

Get the rear tires off the ground by lifting from the frame then push the axle as far over as possible, if you can't get it to touch you'll most likely be fine.
