I went up Silver Canyon last year. I did almost all of it 2wd. However, the few spots I used 4Lo I was glad I have it.

Some pics taken by Convict lake and a back trail that takes you up to a ridge that gives you a 360 degree view of Convict Lake and Crowley Lake. The trail is one of many in the eastern sierras, a great book to navigate those trails is the California Trails series books that are broken into different regions.

No, just the road before the parking lot on the right, it looks like no one has been on it in a while. It has two switchbacks then a turnaround.

I just completed my latest adventure trip in Alaska. My girlfriend and I were gone for five days, and drove over 1,300 miles. We started in Fairbanks, AK and drove south to Seward and Homer, AK via the Richardson Highway. On our return, we drove north on the Glenn Highway, stopping for a short visit into the Denali National Park.

Below are some pictures from one of the trails: Coal Mine Rd, mile 254 off the east side of the Richardson Hwy.

    I'll have a look!

I did a bicycle trip from Anchorage to Fairbanks and down to Valdez. We did the bus tour of Denali, rode out to Tangle Lakes. We did a lot in a week and it's an amazing state. Anyone on the fence about going should definitely go. I hope to get back one day.
