Nice. I planted burpless cucumbers but the pill bugs ate them.

I've struggled to keep these alive in the wind. This should help by giving it something to grab on to.

We finally got a lot of rain the past couple weeks and humidity is high. Started getting mildew on squash plants that moved over to cantaloupe a little. I read several places a mix of 1 part milk to 9 parts water with 4 teaspoons of baking soda per quart of water a couple drops dishwashing soap in bug sprayer helps stop the mildew and is a good preventative. had I known that before who knows how bad it wouldve got. I trimmed most of leaves and thrown in trash not mulch.

I don't know if you're watering them in the morning or not, but doing that can encourage mildew growth because the water sits on the leaves.
The milk remedy does work on the mildews we have around here, and they also sell a ?sulphur? based spray mix that does the trick. Most of the local garden stores/nurseries will have it during the summer.

watering at night encourages mildew. Morning/day is fine since the sun will dry the plants

i believe its a copper mixture, not sulphur.

I have been using the copper on my cucumbers as a preventative. looking good so far..

There are copper-based treatments as well. Basically any fungicide, really.

Now that the garden's finally doing something besides sitting there getting rained on, it's time for some more pictures!

Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts and Cabbage are up.

Trying some Three Sisters farming this year; Corn, Beans, and Squash in the same bed. We'll see how it goes.

Corn! The corn took so long to sprout that I thought it had rotted in the ground.

    Rhubarb finally showing its face
    [IMG]

    Beets
    [IMG]

Three and a half plantings of peas, thanks to the damn chickens. They got into the garden and dug out half of what I'd planted and ate them, so I had to do a replant in the first row.

My Watermelon and Honeydew Melon bed is being taken over by Dill from seeds that dropped last year. Time for some serious thinning and replanting of my dill...

The hot peppers are finally showing some signs of life too.

And the strawberries have set some fruit on!

Damn you! Your garden has plants that have grown! :brianr:

Bah. I wish I had established grape vines. Mine are all of a year old this spring and had some pretty significant winterkill from rodentia nibbling on them.

I wish I knew how old they were, we bought our house from a Greek family whose parents lived in the house for 60 plus years, we can yield about 20 pints of grape jelly...wish they were wine grapes though

    Too warm, maybe?
I grow spinach in May and June; by July it either bolts or dies. I'll rip it out, retill, and plant another crop in September.
Never had a problem with it growing, though.

If it was, I'm jealous. None of my dinosaurs that I planted have even sprouted yet :p
