Alright, the asshat service rep I was working with just called me back to tell me I was right and that his parts guys screwed up the order. He admitted that the springs they just put on my truck were the old three leafs. He gave me a half-ass apology and said he was just a little hyper this morning and didn't mean to give me so much trouble. As long as they get it right I'll be OK but when it's all said and done I'm still going to call this clown's manager to complain about his pitiful customer service.

Thanks for the pics man, did you measure the wheel gap before and after? Judging by the pics looks about an 1 1/2 to 2 inch in crease in height.

I forgot to measure before the TSB. Right now with nothing in the bed there is about 2 1/2 to 3 inches of difference in ride height between the front end and rear end of the truck.

I'd guess it would be about 1 1/2 taller than the non TSB leafs.

    3" lift,
Has anyone with a lift using the stock leafs and a sacer block tried to get the TSB leaf done?

Yep. That's the same question I wanted to know before I got mine. I got it after getting a 3" lift with blocks in the back. the dealer said they're not supposed to do it but he was like "what lift, we're gonna do it for you anyway." Awesome!
just work with your dealer and see what they can do for you.

    3" lift,
Erock - How do you like the added leaf with the lift? Does it raise the back? With the blocks in mine the leafs have a negative arch on them. How does it ride now?

    HI All,

Just got a (bought new) 07 Prerunner access cab V6. I'll check the springs when I get home, but assuming I have the old setup - should I get the TSB done if the truck is used more like a car? My wife uses the truck and likes it because it is easy to drive. I will haul stuff from Home Depot very occasionally (just picked it up so haven't yet). I don't want to give her a hard hitting rear end and ruin what she sees as a 'smooth ride". What do you think?

I don't haul heavy loads or tow and I found the ride smoother after the TSB.

Just took my Tacoma in to the local dealer to have the TSB done. I did the call up the Toyota Customer Service and had them contact my local dealer. I lucked out and got a rep who actually knew a thing or two about their Toyotas. The Local dealer here call me up and said they needed the truck to inspect the springs and such and then they would order the parts. Let me know if this sounds fishy. They seemed to be very cooperative and willing to do the job. I guess they are checking it to make sure that I didn't jack something up and getting Toyota to pick up the tab. They are going to give me my truck back tomorrow after they inspect it and that I could bring it back when they get the parts.

Took my truck to Toyota dealer today for the TSb, the service writer was awesome (Matt you rock brother) and was going to do the TSB today(he had the parts). But there was a rep from Toyota Corp that put the brakes on everything, saying my truck isn't covered. I got pissed so he decided he wanted to drive my truck. So we loaded up my truck with 3 guys from the dealer myself and the Toyota rep and took it for a ride. Found some bumps and sure enough my truck hit the bump stops. Apparently the Toyota Rep has to get the OK from Toyota Corp to do the TSP if they will even do it. So I am waiting to hear back from this rep and I am not happy about it. Any suggestions guys/gals?

Dude, I guess you're gonna have to be patient and wait for the rep. I just don't understand why Toyota is being that way. They know they have a known problem and they're gonna dance around it. Sorry homer

Man, that's rotten. Generally it's the other way around with the reps. As for an update with mine. I got my truck back yesterday, and my local dealer said they would have no problem doing it and the parts are on order. They should come in on friday afternoon. So, hopefully i'll have it done on Monday. During the "inspection" he said that they were unable to get it to bottom out, but they would do the TSB anyways. :) I also checked with him to make sure the right parts were on order (4 leaf instead of 3) They have been really cooperative over there.

I got Toyota to cover mine (my truck has 1700 miles on it). The regional service rep took my truck for a ride and he experienced the "harsh ride" and bottoming out to the bump stops. My truck is at the shop as we speak, I should have my truck back tomorrow. I called the 1-800 number first then my dealer contacted me.

Well after convincing the dumba** service guy at my local dealership that the three leaf springs they installed last week were the wrong parts for the TSB I got the work redone today and officially have 4 leafs on each side. So far so good. Might not work with that service writer again but I'm happy the work was finally completed properly.
