You're going to be like me know....

I hit my shackles and springs in Moab more than my fancy new HC bumper.

I want to make one, just not that high clearance and a bit more stock looking, but something that can still take a hit, tow, and what not.

I don't think anyone on here thinks Travis can't handle what he built, looks badass to me, he just needs to paint it and use it now that school is out.

Oh yeah, lots more room for rocks under there and even if something does hit it, it is SUPER beefy. Most is 1/4" :anonymous: overkill

Amen brother. Wait till you see it in person when I make it south for more wheeling. Maybe old chinaman gulch in July?

Chinaman is actually the next trail id like to do. I've been starting to plan it, no dates picked yet. Gotta get my house moved out first.

It's not the riding shot gun or my truck, it's me in and out of the hospital and not feeling good. We will see. I have an idea, nothing complicated, some kick outs near the bed and then strong filler plates so the wife can use them as a step, and strong enough to lift the side if needed.

They tell me I'm a asshat rookie driver after Moab because apparently I almost killed my spotter doing this off camber "crack" obstacle on gold bar rim hahaha.

I'll admit I throttled a little too much but damn, people on this forum love to measure dicks. It is unbelievable.

not to start anything, I wasn't there... but if one person says something... they may be a dick... if multiple people say it... there might be some truth to it.

Take it for what you will, but attitudes like that will reduce the amount of people willing to wheel with you. especially when it comes to someones safety.

I know nothing of the situation but if someone was endangered from your actions and that someone wasn't you it might be wise to show a little more humility and contrition coupled with the demonstrated willingness to learn in order to prevent such situations from happening later. Again, I wasn't there nor do I have any idea what happened but I'm basing my statement on what you said. I know if I did something brash that endangered someone else's well being I wouldn't be flippant about it.

I think if no one got hurt and you learned from it then just chalk it up to more knowledge next time.
I went wheeling with a group of guys that had years of combined experience, I got laughed at when I mentioned airing down cause of the snow, I got laughed at when I said I would go last incase the F250 non 4x4 got stuck.
What I learned that day, no matter what someone says when you are winching out a F250 backwards don't get anywhere near the line. Mr your truck won't do got a snapped shackle to the arm and broke it, and I still had to get people unstuck so he could go to the hospital.
So I say if you learned something from it, then you aren't so new, if you came away with nothing, then a reevaluation of what happened is in order.
I'm not new to wheeling, but I don't know everything about it either, so always learning is something that will happen no matter who you go out with.

I saw that video. I think he was too close to your truck. You never want to be in a position where you can get pinned between a vehicle and a rock. The whole "Canadian locker" thing is okay, I guess, but the driver knows that someone is back there and can act accordingly. It didn't appear as though your plan was to have him try to grab your slider to leverage you through the tippy part. Idk but I wouldn't worry about that too much, it didn't look like you messed up on driving there. Smoother than a lot of the other crossings I have seen. Not sure I could get across.
That meet thread gets to be a little heavy on the machismo for sure. It's hard to not get caught up in the "keep up with the jones'" and going crazy spending money. People dogging other peoples trucks or ignoring them because they aren't as modded up. Oh well, that's not the majority of people there.

Tell them to get a boner break it in half and go fuck them selves. You didn't tell your spotter to jump into the crack after your truck. So many people on forums like to arm chair qb shit. Fuck them dude just wheel and do what you want. You did fine through that obstacle I'm sure the next time you run it, it will be better.
