Does anyone have the newer style, all black (no chrome trim) running boards on their Tacomas? I can't seem to find a single picture of one of these actually on a truck and Toyota only provides the dinky little photo shown above.

I was about to buy the OEM Tube Steps, but thought these might look nice on Silver Taco.

    Thanks!

I have them and they are a pain in the a** for me. I am 6'2" and have had them on my last two Tacomas, and they weren't a problem. With the old body style, I was able to step out of the truck without rubbing the back of my legs , but with this new one (08) it is difficult, even though they are not as wide as those I previously had. They have all been genuine Toyota accessories. My shorter guests use them as a step and they are fine for them, but I find them to be an inconvenience for me. But I'll still leave 'em on. they don't look bad. (sorry no pics right now)

I've got 'em on my '09. I really like them. I'm short - 5'8" but I don't really use them for a step. I put them on mainly to protect the body. See the pic to the left. Maybe I can snap a couple bigger pics as well.

They look like they can be really useful in preventing door dings in parking lots. Seeing how I can't get sliders here (without paying an arm and leg for shipping) I should have gotten these. Looks great!

    You guys with Double Cabs.....

If you've got the time - what's the total width of the OEM running boards?

Can you snap a picture of the mounting locations (especially the rear one)?

Or you could always power coat the oval shaped factory side steps. Just a thought.

I'll have to go home today and get the tape measure out....THanks!
WHere are you from in Central Pa?
PM me if you wanna keep it private.

If you still have them, I'd definately be interested in looking at yours and hold them up to the truck to see where everything is. I've come down to the conclusion that I'd have to build a bracket to support the backside where the cab is (where the double cab rear mount would be). And from there, If I could do something with them...I'd be interested in buying.

    Thankyou for the measurements!!
I was able to get under there. The First two mounting holes are the same on the Access Cab. The 3rd access cab mount is at approx 61 1/2" - 14" (give or take) short of the double cab mounts. You could use those holes also, but you'd have about 18" (give or take) of overhang past that 3rd mount (and I already knew that). The entire length is exactly what I want but it might butt up againest my flares (trimming?). A 4th mounting bracket (for support) would have to be made because I wanna be able to stand on these to reach into the bed. The problem with that.... where the bracket needs to be is right there where the main eye for the leaf springs are.

I'd almost have to see all this in person.

    I'll PM ya. Thanks again!

    Bump for the running boards!

Kudos to Brad (pataco)! Just picked me up a set and they're in great shape!

Anyone know the bolt size for the body mounts?

No worries.... That's a good idea keeping your holes plugged like that! No worries at all.

I would've used new bolts anyway. I probably have some lying around here in the garage. :D

Don't worry if you can't find out. I can 'test' fit just as easy as you can.

How much do those boards go for (double cab)? I saw a tacoma on the road yesterday and noticed them, I could use a set and they look better than the other OEM ones.
