While I agree that the OP is stupid to ponder such a thing, your assertion that it drives up healthcare costs isn't correct. During his life spanned it may or may not be but as a smoker his shortened life span will actually save the system a whole lot more than it costs. Old people cost more in the long run, double it if you take social security into account.

I really don't give a shit if you smoke or not. If you want cancer that bad go for it. You're trolling anyway.

What gets me and I personally think is a larger epidemic is obesity. It pisses me off to no end seeing some 300lb fat fuck riding around in the electric shopping cart at Wal Mart because they are to goddamn lazy to actually walk. Then they have a handicap sticker on their car so they can park right up front because I'll be goddamn if I'm gonna walk the extra 20ft to my car

The state I live in has a 34.5% obesity rate. One fucking third of the population is fucking fat. The vast majority of that could be avoided.

I hope you ain't in Texas cause damnnnn we got some big ones here and a lot of them. Some it's just to a depressing point- they've just accumulated so much weight and body fat without doing anything about it that they garner disorders such as diabetes and heart/cholesterol issues which in turn doesn't allow them to "exercise" as we all want them to. But there are the majority who are just obese and don't do a thing about it.

Same here man. It's honestly to the point that I just can't believe that you could let yourself get to that point. I realize that there are some factors involved in some cases but.... the vast majority could be avoided. I'm in my mid 40's, 6' tall, and weigh 189. As I get older it gets a little harder to maintain but I got my personal trainers license about 4 years ago through the FD and I assist with nutrition / workout plans for individuals that are "willing" to make a change.

The whole smoking thing... we all know the OP is trolling (fuck... he may be fat too) but if we are going to talk about health problems then obesity ranks right up there at the top.

    yeah, i would, only if:
    a) i wasn't such a pussy to do it myself
    b) i wasn't worried about my kid growing up to be a piece of shit (of course, even if i'm around he could still grow up to be a piece of shit anyway)

You can do everything right as a parent and still raise a piece of poo or do everything wrong and your kid could rise above all that and prove to be awesome. I don't know the exact science. Some folks are destined to fail and others are destined to be successful. kids for whatever reason become adults and can make their own decisions. Just whatever you do, don't let that kid grow up to live in your basement with their significant other while you care for their kid.
