Tired, crap at work is broken because of incompetence and egos.

Time for some food and more planning for my 6 weeks of primitive camping while an apartment becomes available in August.

joining the good ole graveyard!!!! well only 4.5 more hours of my 24hr shift then 8 hours of sleep and back to that 12+ hour shifts. doing good so far, i've had 3 gallons of water today (hot as hell and sweating my ass off) and now i'm on my first and last energy drink called rip it....one of the best ones and 99 cents to!!!

I see that. Actually im in pickins co. Easley. Bought a house here 4 yrs ago.
I'm 3rd shift but been off since may 2nd mending a fractured hip. Still keep my hours for the most part.

 

ouch! hate to hear that about your hip. i work rehab, so i know how fractured hips can be. i def know what you mean, i have worked 3rd now for 14 years and even the nights im off i tend to stay on 3rd shift schedule.

 

Alright, except my supervisor screwed up the overtime! You'd think they would know how to read. And the union handbook is fairly clear in how it's supposed to be offered. Now whether the union will do anything about it, is anybody's guess.
How's the hip doing?

 

Cool. Yea, its kinda a bummer cause they just pinned it. Just praying the bone heals and AVN doesnt set in. Prob won't be back to work for a while.
So you work rehab at a local hospital?
We have a great bunch of people in here usually but they work diff days on and off.
I was just strait 11pm-7am.

 

Yeah, I keep the third shift schedule on weekends as well. Just makes life easier during the week

 

Hip feels good. Trying to deal with a swollen knee still and discoloration of the lower right leg. I'll live. lol

 

not anymore, used to work at a hospital but now work at a local rehab and acute care facility. yea thats what i work 11p-7a. mind if i ask how you fractured your hip?

 

I was coming down my stairs kinda, not really sideways (towards the left) but not really strait down. Got to about the 5th step from the bottom and my right ankle rolled. Next my right hip met 3/4 in solid oak flooring.
Laid around for a couple hours until I could activate my alarm system.
Surgery that nite, on crutches the next day and released on sunday.

 

If the fracture doesn't heal or necrosis of the upper femur occurs....time for a new hip.
It was a type 3 upper femoral break. Pretty Nasty.

 

So did you get it squared up with him? Or do you have to wait a week for another check?
I hate when they do that to me and then take out extra taxes because the check is higher than normal.

 

owww! wow they got you in and out fast. i bet the bruising and swelling was insane. yeah these days they dont keep you in the hospital for long, it seems its all about outpateint and in home care.

 

I agree. The hardest part is I live alone so I have to deal with normal everyday stuff while I try and heal.
And......face these stairs several times per day on crutches.
Gonna take off after my next appt on the 30th and head home to indiana for a month to stay with the folks and visit my grandmother. It's been a while.

Do you do rehab like what I will be going thru sometime in sept, hopefully?

 

The quick in-and-out was probably good on the bill though. After a m/c accident my hospital stay before procedures for 6 days was $72,500 before insurance.

Insurance paid about 13k of that $72,500 when I pulled the history.
