I have a G27 and love it!

 

I had the XD40 subcompact a while back and I really liked it.

 

just because i said i would go through that mud with training wheels and no seat doesnt mean i would actuallly do.......

 

The Gander Mountain on my way to work has a Glock 27. Actually quite a large selection of guns. Some AR-15-like .22 rifles too that I think would be cool (and cheaper!) to target shoot with. Too bad they were all $1100+ No Beretta CX-4 Storm though. I want one of those, but want to see/hold one first.

Y'all are making me jealous! Seems like it takes an act of congress (slower and less likely than an act of God) to get a CCW in NY. Combine that with the fact each county is different, has different requirements, etc. One county will let me get one to carry anywhere. Next one over only does house to range and back, hunting only, etc. If they catch you doing something other than specified in the license here comes a fine. I *think* I'm in a county known for being more relaxed and giving out general carry permits, but I don't know 5 individual, unrelated, unmarried, non-family people to sign the damn affidavit saying I'm sane enough to carry a gun. (Did I mention ALL 5 people need to live in the SAME COUNTY as me and know me for at least 2 or 3 years?)

As for stupid sales people.... The same Gander Mountain is a poor example of customer service. None of them have ever asked to help me in the gun section, and I've never been able to get someone over to archery even though I wait half an hour or so when I go there.

 

The Peoples Republic of California will fall into the ocean one of these days.

NewYork on the other hand will be a little tougher to eradicate. And you're right, that CCW law is whacked.

Two states I have no reason see exist.

Yeah, my Dad lives near Albany. He is a vet and a model citizen and it seems like it took forever for him to get a CWP. He hates NY(the gov't not the state) and can't wait to move.

 

Yeah, communists from Cailforina, NY and Illinois keep moving here too.

Texas isn't that bad, but it did take the DMV 8 months to get me my CHL (Concealed Handgun License). It was ridiculous.

 

I did't know the DMV issued those in Texas. Here in Az, we petition the Department of Public Safety (state troopers) and they issue it usually within a month or so.

 

Out in the sticks where I live ain't so bad... Except the job market... I honestly could care less if NYC/Long Island/etc go under from the melting ice caps. They ruin it for everyone else.

Yeah, I'm not too fond of the weather either. And considering I could buy a pistol in SC and carry it in my car without a permit (as long as it was a 3 step process to lock n load), and I could carry concealed on my own property I think our laws are BS. Only thing they do is keep honest citizens from protecting themselves from the criminals that get guns illegally.

Supposedly it's 6 months in NY, but the flippin' hoops you need to jump through mean I'd never get to complete the application.

Must be nice. Then again, you guys get to open carry. No such thing in Texas (unless you are a uniformed service man).

 

That is the strangest thing about Texas is no open carry. I'll never understand it. Other than that, Texas rocks from what I've heard.
