Cross Nevada "all dirt" expo trip

I am definitely out. Just the wrong dates for me to go.

 

Did some schralping around the lake with my arm in a sling to see if maybe the trip was still possible for me. Way too much trouble one-handed, gotta hold the wheel with my knee while I shift. Looking forward to the pics. Keep the thread alive after the trip. September meadow lake trip is in the plan.

 

I don't think I can go anymore. Financials are not as stable right now as I was hoping they would be. Things just keep coming up

Well.... I have to work thursday and friday. :/ Sat and Sunday are open but you guys will be long gone.

I figured we'd lose a few, but goodness. On a good note, my cb and antenna showed up today!

 

I'm going to get mine tuned tomorrow afternoon to see if its just me being a dumbass with my tuner or if I actually have a shitty connect.

 

What time are we thinking of meeting on Thursday?

 

How long does it take to get to Onion from Reno?

 

Last year we took i80 to Rye Patch and then took dirt the rest of the way. We lost a couple hours due to blowing out the bearings on one side of the trailer and having to go to the Mucc to get a new set and reassemble them. I bet we would have made it in probably 4.5 hours if we didn't have that set back.

 

Ok, so meet 9 or 10 in Reno then hit fernley and up?

 

Or we could take 395 north out of Reno to Bordertown and then cut across east on dirt roads to Pyramid and up to Gerlach. If we started that way we would truly be doing border to border and it would cut down on pavement miles. Just a thought, not sure if we are supposed to meet people in Fernley.

 

I am absolutely ok with that. I didnt know any dirt roads what would keep us out of kommifornia going that way. I am not very familiar with that area.

 

Is this our final count? Trying to get some food planned out. We are cooking breakfast for everyone on Saturday morning. I just need to know how much stuff we need to bring. Everyone bringing their lady? I know Owen's lady backed out...

 

Yeah, we can start at Border Town, cut through Lemmon Valley and then there is a dirt road that will connect us to Winnemmucca Ranch road which will put us out on Pyramid Highway. From there we can go up the west side of Pyramid to Gerlach.

 

That works, sounds like you are leading that day.

 

Cool, more than willing. Never made the trek through Black Rock to Denio so we can all decide on the best route through there.

 

I think Owen said he has been that way. Not like we can get too lost, and who cares if we do.
