Thats some good advice. Thanks Alex!
Are you in construction or the likes?

Much of the wood is not true in regards to vertical studs. If they had defective wood they were supposed to pile it for credit on new ones which I never saw. Between me and my wife, we were there almost every day since construction started. So they cant pull some BS that they did do that.

They said with regards to chunks missing, that as long as it doesnt exceed a 1/3 of the wood(like they even calculate anything :rolls eyes) it is structurally sound.

In regards to nails, the PM said they will occasionally miss one or two nails and readjust and make the mark. But when I see several examples of consistent 5-6 nails missed every 4-6 studs, something is fcuking wrong. Again like I said, a blind person would be able to put this together better.

The caulking/sealing job as well, they quickly did that as well and missed. Effin-A these guys all around suck.

The electrician is just putting wire wherever however. You can tell where he started in the house and finished up. He drilled the holes in the center of studs 10x neater where he started, to where he progressed during the day and 'punched' holes in 2x4 studs at the edge of the stud. another WTF.

Yes and I think they are not worth the money at all. They would be worth it for a full set if it was $200 new.. I'm not a fan of mine at all.

My house is my construction experience. My father taught me a lot of things. We had the foundation poured and I did pretty much everything else, and it's done both to code and done with pride. Key word, PRIDE!

I also worked with an electrician for a few months and did the electrical at the house (including a 20kW whole home generator) from all the things my father taught me since I was a little kid. Haven't caused an electrical fire yet, and the inspector gave it a big ol' (we "hired" an electrician to show it was done by a licensed guy. It was one of our family friends)

If warped, crooked, knotted, fucked up wood is used, do you really think the BIGGEST INVESTMENT you will ever make, will stay straight and true in 10 years? Personally I'd knock it down and start over... Lol

As for the nails, that's not "oh I missed one" that's using a framing nailer, blasting nails in without checking where you're putting them (and without really caring either) because the faster they slap that horseshit together, the more money they make, and their supervisors are going to vouch for them, obviously.

I'm kinda dumbfounded by how they missed the caulking... But that's easy enough to fix on your own. Then again, you're paying THEM to do it right, which means you shouldn't have to lift a finger during the building of your home other than to make decisions with your wife.

There's no excuse for the electrician. I understand that electrical is boring and tedious, it's an all-around pain in the ass, but that's something I would never want to half-ass! You want it to last so you don't have safety concerns or constant repairs. Nothing sucks more than diagnosing electrical issues. Using a 3/4" or 1" butterfly bit should have made EASY work of those shitty studs.... You can blast clean-looking holes through the studs in seconds. Probably less effort than punching out the studs too. And when space was limited (wiring in the basement is tricky when adding studs butting next to concrete walls), I used a chisel and smoothed it out so that it all fit beautifully.

All of this, coming from a 20 year old who works as a machinist, says something HUGE about the company you selected to build your house, unfortunately.

Yup. I bought mine used, got a good deal on them, still don't think they are worth it. My mom got a $25 seat cover that looks better. Might not hold up as long but who cares its a seat cover.

None of those are worthy of being a Chicago style pizza. What are people thinking! Now I am craving pizza from Gino's East.

The thing people don't realize about them is that they were designed and manufactured in Hawaii, for Hawaii climates.

When I lived there they were in every vehicle that I rode/drove. Work trucks, my personal vehicles, everything. They were fan-Fecking-tastic there.

Now that being said, I sure as hell will NOT own them in AZ's dry, hot environment. Pure unmitigated Hell on teh SweetCheeks.

That just made not want to get them now. I have been wanting them, but haven't been able to afford the $250 price tag.

come on down to arizona and get them installed in Tucson or you can self install them. The trick with leather is to make sure you get perforated leather, and also Tint your windshield (not legal but my 60% is barely noticeable )

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/group-buys/313544-katzkin-leather-your-tacoma.html

John did an amazing job and I had ghost TRD stitching on mine also for the front and back.. matches perfectly.

yeah for basically a little more than the neoprene you can have leather and it's less miserable than neoprene. It really dresses up the interior also plus much easier to slide out of the truck and I don't get the static shocks i use to get in the winter which were evil with my cloth interior.

This is a good topic. I desperately need seat covers, my seat gets so dirty from work. So other than leather and wet okles and leather, any good options?
