Could somebody explain the difference between the CVT Mt.Bachelor and the CVT Mt.Shasta? They appear to be have the same dimensions when open and both have the removable Annex. Why would I get one over the other?

    thx in advance.

The Mt. Bachelor doesn't have the overhang that the Mt. Shasta has.

A larger annex and an overhang.

    Both are four walled.

Entrance to the Bachelor tent is not covered by the annex.

The difference is being able to go up and down the ladder in the rain with out getting wet (Shasta) or getting wet (bachelor).

Shasta also allows you to climb down the ladder naked if you wanted without anyone being able to see.

Bachelor allows you to lay in bed and look out the door. Shasta the overhang is in the way but you can look out a window.

Cant' you just open the opposite side on the shasta like a door to look out? The tepui version works in that manner. Basically the whole side zips open like a door would.

I was disapointed too, but don't worry that is acctually a different model. The autana sky has the sunroofs, but the standard autana does not. I its like a 250 dollar option for them, and I don't think I would get them because then I couldn't have the rainfly on....

You don't have to take the rainfly off on the Sky models. You can get both the Kukenam and the Autana in a "sky" model. I just got the Kukenam Sky on my truck. The rain fly just has clips at the outer corners. Unclip it and roll the rainfly to the middle. If it starts raining, roll it back out and clip it in place. No big thing.

That's a neat option but not something needed in the New York metropolitan area... Way too much light pollution :p

I could see that being pretty cool when you're way out in the middle of nowhere during a meteor shower or something though.
