Can you really see better without doors? I'm tall so i just wear no belt and climb out the windows to see when on trails.

No way? Thats pretty bad ass! Racing and competing would be a blast...but i think its more fun at the end of the day to do it for yourself and have fun with it and not worry about the competition.

I have a friend who is on a baja 1000 team with his dad. If I want to I could go down and run on a chase truck crew for him, but the baja always is during school and I cant take 2 weeks off. Maybe its something to look into?

I like my truck neat and clean, so there was nothing back there but a cooler and a bag of food and go pro shit, which all stayed put. So clean the truck and problem solved.

you can drive 100% better. Its amazing. Im not sure how tall you are but im 6' and the door is still a PITA. Not having doors made the truck more capable just on that fact alone.

Now it wouldn't do any good if you were doing high speed shit, or pussy off roading. But when you are rock crawling on obstacles and tire placement is crucial down to an inch, you bet it makes a difference.

 

Fuck you guys leaving me out. My one life goal is to make a reasonable sum of money so I can have a ton of freaking toys. Thats literally the goal of my existence.

Thats the same for me. With the addition of raise as much reasonable hell as i can with my toys and go as long as mu body will let me. I have to ride this shit as far as it will go. Push it as much as necessary to make it as long as necessary.

ya know. thats been my motto, and probably will be...but at a certain point, it comes down to abuse it in your 20s and pay for it in your late 30s 40s and 50s. So 10 years of bone breaking fun for 30 years of misery? I plan on still doing fun shit for my 30-50 years. Hell my dad is 55 and got BACK into white water kayaking and rides dirt bikes and skiis with me. I know a number of people who just cant do that because they destroyed themselves when they were young. So you have to pick your battles for sure.

 

Well i did put all my stuff in a big black box to make it all i one place and that really helped but there is still a shit load of bottled water, clothes, hats, random tools, air fresheners and shit laying back there.

I'm 6'1" so we are basically in the same boat. You make a lot of sense about the tire placement and being able to see doe i still cain't be without my doors doe. I lean on my door panel with my elbow because i has poor posture

 

I've always been really into competitions for some reason. I did baton twirling (shuddup ) when I was really little and then I raced dirt bikes later on. I've entered shooting competitions (got one coming up and next year I'm going to Nationals in Nebraska) and of course my sheep competition. I just love the challenge I think. I'm a sucker for winning things (medals, trophies, etc)...probably why I enjoy raffles so much and I also love working on getting achievements on video games

One thing still on my list is I want to enter a horse show and win a ribbon. I don't care if it's like 6th place haha. I've never been the "if you're not first you're last" type of person. It's just a good feeling know you achieved something. And I like being versatile and trying new things.

So other than horses, I want to enter something vehicle related. Be it U4, trohpy truck, 24 hours of Lemons, something lol

I want to get through school and land a good job that will allow me to still travel and explore throughout my 20s then spend my 30-40s on work and family adventures(while still doing fun things and traveling) them go back to doing stupid shit as an old man lol

 

I guarantee if you take them off you will quickly figure it out. and find a new comfy position.

But TBH not every truck can pull it off. The tacos are pretty big and long to take off the doors and it looks kinda weird without big tires and a lift to make the door not look as proportionally significant to the truck. Also you need the right personality, namely an i dont give a fiddler's fuck kind of attitude lol.
