Percentages are pretty damn close, all though I would say the rear makes an open/open more than 50% more capable. Coming from starting with an open/open rig to fully locked now.

I would probably need to go look at pics again, but to be honest im probably considering this for trails above what yall would do, because there is that "im xxx miles from home and I have to drive back" thing. So unless you start going on 7-8 maaaayyybe but probably not a 9 rated trail with all of the optional obstacles you will be fine with what you got, as well as everyone else. Luckily moab is not a destruction prone place ive found. I destroy my shit much harder in idaho than i ever have in moab. it can be pretty forgiving and makes you feel good about yourself haha.

Shit. Think the RTT vendors are going to come after me with pitchforks and torches?

Im not saying RTT arent sweet, they are very handy for most camping and light wheeling trips, but if you were planning on buying one for just moab, ya save the 1000 bucks and put it to gas or have a saftey net. If you have a bed rack, like I said you can just take it off and set it on the ground and still use the tent.

A lot of the california guys last year had RTTs on the rigs and wheeled with em every day, but its still more of an inconvenience than anything to me, as well as the top heavy factor
Get a rear locker and a front bumper. Those are some of the most important things IMO, as well as sliders of course

You havent met mike (mhmeier) but he is the one exception to the rule  he can and has hero'd his open/open trail limo through so much shit it blows me away and trumps our whole group! He gives, NO FUCKS!

We were doing guardian hill (and we are all locked except him) and hes having a hard time, spinning tire, walking all over the place, he got stuck in some sand before even getting to the obstacle, so eventually he just steps on it and plows his way to the top. When hes done he stops and realizes, man I probably should have aired down for that im still at 45 psi. How can I make this ANY harder for myself...open/open, street psi, might as well just not use 4wd to make it fun!

ALSO, another thought speaking of mike, you 2nd gen guys getting skid plates, do the god damn exhaust reroute or whatever its called. Mike got hung up on his because it hangs down so low to protect that stupid low hanging exhaust pipe, re route it and get a flat belly skid if you are going to do it

Apparently, bring an entire rear third member as well as an entire rear drive shaft. Had both break this year and moab is jeep heaven...so toyota parts are nill. Closest place for specialty parts is grand junction.

    Ball joints

fluids to refill your tranny and radiator should they drain

u probably got crap because people think air lockers are the only ones worth getting. I have a powertrax no slip installed by ECGS and it does fine on the street. It takes a min to get used to and I had to change my driving habits because of how it locks and unlocks but now it's just normal. It's very quiet too since putting amsoil oil in my diffs. People run lunchbox lockers in everything from DD tow rigs to drag cars to built buggies. It's just a more cost effective and simpler way of accomplishing the same goal.

Also for everyone worried about breaking cv's ...... you can break one with no locker also. Driver mod helps a lot. Intelligence goes a long way in keeping your truck together. If you are turned at full lock and hung up in a rock garden, it's probably not smart to lock the front and floor it. If you do and you break something, some people will think you are a badass and don't give a fuck, some people (like me) will call you an idiot and take a lunch break while you figure out the easiest way to change your cv. Haha not all things are under your control and shit happens but if you are stupid then expect stupid results. 2nd gen Toyota axles are stronger then some folks think.

thats a true fact, air lockers are pretty nice. For my rear I didn't want an air line going all the way back there and having to worry about it getting caught. I'd rather go simple and know my rear locker will work even if my air compressor takes a dump.

I've broken a cv before I was locked due to "not giving a fuck" that day. It happens. I wheel with a lot of guys on 1 ton axles and 37s and they often are hung up full lock and lock the front and give it skinny pedal which is not a luxury we have even though our front diffs and axles can take quite a bit of punishment

It was awesome wheeling with a bunch of rigs with my gear on them, this will certainly add to that group.
