Ahhhhhh my people. I kept seeing the 40+ and old timers (60+) threads and wondered where ours was.

 

I think Voltron fits that description. Maybe another as well but Voltron is all I can think of.

 

That's it man! Voltron. I remember liking that one real well.

 

I still got all my micro machines.

 

I still watch it with my kids.

 

I still have my Voltron from my younger years. That show was pretty awesome.

 

I'm 32, have a taco, and had micro machines, matchbox cars, tinker-toys, Legos, and a bolt action .22LR growing up.

Looking forward to catching up and joining in on this thread!

Do any of you find yourselves referencing something awesome and teenagers look at you like "what the hell"? I work at a college so this happens all the time.

 

I work for an education company flying around the country visiting schools. I said "I remember getting that album on cassette".

The amount of blank stares I got was unreal. Highschool kids had no idea what it was. I said VHS, blank.

Drives me insane. Sure I wasn't around when 8-Tracks were the standard, but I still know what the hell it is.

 

Oh yeah all the time from my 9 year old son, and teenage niece and nephew.

 

Yeah sometime I still "tape" things on my DVR lol. Surprises the youngin's haven't questioned me on that yet.

 

Life is rough when I reference Office Space and nobody catches on. Watching that film should be part of college orientation.

 

Not just teens, but a guy who just turned 30 in my office looked puzzled when I referenced Young Guns 1 & 2 yesterday.

Hell yes. I recently got a box of my youth goodies from my mom's house. One of the great things in there was my Voltron! I also bought the dvd box set of the series about 4 years ago. Watching it again took me way back. I freaking loved that show growing up.

 

I was watching X-Games the other day and the camera went to a guy and I instantly yelled HELLYEAH......it's Bill Allen...fuckin A.....everyone looked at me like "what the fuck dude"....I said that's Cru Jones dipshits come on!!!!!!! They said "who"...I said you're all a bunch of owls with the who stuff!!!!!

I liked that Tosh had him on his show, and that American Dad referenced "Rad" a few seasons back.
