Well ever since we bobbed spoonman's truck I've been incredibly sick. I think it's from breathing in the composite box material. As soon as he hit the box with the grinder, the entire garage was filled with a white powder. We definitely should have been wearing a respirator haha. So with being sick, and words from the doctor that I shouldn't be working in this condition, I went to Kelowna to see my brother and take care of their dog when they leave for Jamaica. I took some rolling shots on the beautiful drive down

Hopefully I'm goofs enough to go back to work for Monday. I've been on some pretty intense medication to help my stomach. Mind you....I wouldn't mind living here haha

Hey man I've read your whole build over the last few days. You've done an A+ job on it truck looks great! Your firewall tub is by far the cleanest! It's a shame you aren't closer to AZ to do it again on a white DC :D

Moab is by far one of my favorite places, such beautiful country. We were planning a return trip later this year as well. I'll have to watch your dates to see if they line up with ours!

    Again man beautiful rig!

That's awesome!! Thanks dude! It's kind of a scattered build thread. I really need to go through it and link all the stages of the build to the front page. Makes it A LOT easier when your searching for stuff haha. I will most certainly post up the dates when I'm headed back south again.

And id for sure be up for helping anyone out with the tub job. It's a nasty shitty job haha. To bad I'm so far away :p

    Thanks again!!

Linking everything would only make it easier for you when the same question is asked a million times haha.

I did order some new fender flare clips this morning that I plan on painting white. Never even thought of doing that. Guess we will see how it turns out :D

Nice!! White should turn turn out pretty good as long as you use lots of paint. I know my blue clips are starting to show some blue through now. I have to pop them out and spray them down again.

Make sure to post some pics in the 35's thread for the first gens!! Good luck!!

    Oh I would if I had 35's :(

But for the record I've wanted 35's on my DC since before they were cool hahahah.

If I can find someone locally to hold my hand thru the tub I'll be doing it for sure. I'm just a little to skeered to do it on my own I guess.

I think you should be good!! As long as you have experience with welding and cutting haha. It's not that it's a hard job....it's just messy and dirty. Very tedious I kept telling myself it's easier to remove material than it is to put it back on haha.

By far the strongest way to do it is rosette weld the new material back on. How soon are you going to be doing this?

No time frame set in stone really. Haven't even bought 35's yet. If I happen to find someone that's done it locally to lend a hand then I'll do it then. Otherwise it will probably wait till my 285's need replaced.

I really just want to do it right, clean, and give it that factory look like you did with one piece of metal.

I've just never welded on such thin material. Maybe I'll snag some and practice with it first.

Practice is a very good idea haha. I did quiet a bit on the old material that came out before welding in the new piece. However...there are varying thicknesses in that sheet metal. Closer to the bottom (rock panel) it gets quiet thick. Nice and easy to get some solid tacks in there. The top and sides though, watch out hahaha. It's paper thin.

Switched out my old fairlead for the new Warn fairlead. Picked it up from the local 4 wheel parts store. For extremely cheap haha

Unfortunately no. We are going to keep it to 2-3 trucks. Small, very capable group. I've heard great things are MCR though. Maybe next year I'll go check it out
