You are correct that it's not exactly the same, but your Wrong that it's "very close".

OP, I suggest you do your own research and listen less to threads like this.

There is a massive amount of "group think" on this forum when it comes to lifts. As you can see, it mostly revolves around the 5100's. They certainly are a great value, but as soon as one looks at something different, you're banished!

Well, I'm pretty sure you can't buy the 9100's that Toyota uses. I may be wrong, but I think they are only available to Toyota... Also, some people either don't want to, or can't afford to spend $3000 on Kings. If money were no object, then I'd agree that Kings are the way to go. My ToyTec suggestion is a better-than-stock suspension solution for an affordable price. For those who want to spend the big buck, buy Kings! They're great shocks!..

For what it's worth, I'm very happy with mine. It's a very nice suspension and rides great. The Icon AAL compliments it perfectly. It's what I wanted, at the price I was willing to spend, for the needs and purposes I will use my truck. I have my reasons from experience, and my own opinion on the subject, but I'm not trying to add on to the bickering. :)

TRDParts4U is where I got mine.

I thought it was clear the "suspension geometry" was not changed. The Baja is a bolt-on kit specifically designed for 2012+ Tacomas 4WD six-lug either Access Cab or DCSB.

Apparently I didn't make that clear. If one wants to change the UCA along with the Baja kit, or if one has a pre-2012 Tacoma, THEN maybe you do a VSC recalibration. If neither of those apply, there is no reason to do a VSC recalibration.

5100's all around with OME 884 at 0. Weathertechs, Carhartt seat covers. BFG KO2's 265/70/17. T4R SEMA wheels. 18% tint on front windows. General Springs HD 4 leaf pack, Leer 100 XR shell.

I cant take a guy who buys a spacer kit and says how much better it was than stock seriously.

You can't tell me that the suspension geometry doesn't change, the frame is further off the ground and the mount points for the UCA and LCA stayed with the frame as it went up.

Right back atcha, OZ. You don't know jackcrap about the Baja suspension, so STFU and don't bother to comment. Thanks in advance for your anticipated cooperation.

This has nothing to do with the Baja suspension , you keep claiming that there is no need to do a VSC recalibration with the Baja suspension because it was specifically designed for the Tacoma by Toyota , almost like you somehow believe that the only reason that anyone would ever do a VSC recalibration is if they install an aftermarket lift , that is totally incorrect .

A reset of the VSC system is required whenever you alter the geometry of the suspension components , even if you are just changing factory suspension components for other factory suspension components or after a wheel alignment as was detailed in the FSM in the post I added earlier

What you are suggesting is like saying you can change tires on your truck and as long as you use the same tires that Toyota puts on the Tacoma , there is no need to reset the TPMS

So maybe you need to STFU

I know you're a good guy OZ, everything you do here is meant to help people out. What I'm saying is the truck works just fine as is and I've pushed it hard, harder than probably 98% of the people on this board do.

I'm not gonna f around with the setup since it works so great. I don't see any need to fix something that already works great.

Yes, I did after installing the Baja kit and 265/75/16 BFG TA/KO's.

The only change was the front left toe went from .19" to .07" which was out of spec range .03" - .14".

Everything else was spot on for the alignment. Everything. Only the left front toe was off, and that is understandable since the left front Baja coil is taller to compensate for the "taco lean".
