I actually have added some holes to the standard rails that will fit ARB and most of that style of awnings. I had sent yours in to be cut before I added them but I will most likely be getting some brackets made too for those that have racks from before the change and are interested.

Technically you could put enough in to make the rack close to a full platform probably around 24-30.

With the cross bar bolts the waning will need to be spaced out to clear them. I thought about drilling the holes too, but had the brackets made inthe end. now I just have to unbolt 2 bolts as opposed to 4 and I till keep the tie down loop

Perfect, thanks for sharing; we'll be mounting up a Foxwing with a similar bracket made by Rhino Rack.

I have been chatting with Luka who has access to the machinery to cut the side rails. We my be working out a deal where he cuts them there to avoid shipping.

Hey Zack, just checking to get an update on how the design is going for my 4Runner rack, and if you made any progress on it this weekend. Thanks and I look forward to it!

I have 12 crossbars on my personal rack and the spacing is all about 3.5"-4" on center, with about 3" in between the bars. 8 cross bars puts you pretty close to 6" spacing if I remember from when I had that many.

To place an order I just need a paypal address to send an invoice to and your order info and once you pay, I start processing things. I am probably going to get a sheet of aluminum sent to have laser cut early next week.

Couple of updates. I have slightly increased the prices based on some material price increases. You can see the changes in the OP. I wanted to absorb most of it but the cost of machining the crossbars was significant because it was a price per tap and per cut which starts to add up when you have 4 taps and 2 cuts per bar. On the other hand I found a new powdercoating shop and am working out a deal with them to bring those prices down. I have made some tentative changes to that pricing based on where I hope it ends up.

To anyone who has requested a quote or has ordered I will honor those prices. From here out, the new prices will take effect. I am hoping you can all be understanding of this and the small changes won't defer your interest.

I also received a notice from UPS that for some reason some of the packages weren't processed after I dropped them off the other morning. They should be good to go now so sorry for those that didn't get out right away.

Zach - thanks for the update, and for honoring previously quoted pricing.

I had mentioned that we are leaving Tuesday for a two week tour of Utah. This trip will cement whether we need a roof rack for our August tour.

Regarding number of crossbars, is there a production alteration to the side rails based on the number, or can crossbars be added and/or reconfigured at any time?

I had previously stated that I want black powder coated side rails and natural aluminum crossbars with clear coat on them. Can your shop handle the clear coating?

    Thanks!

More crossbars can be added, removed, adjusted, or whatever at anytime. The aluminum crossbars come from the factory with a clear anodized finish so any further clear coat would be unproductive based on my understanding of anodization.

Everyone can understand that. What I don't get is why you would be paying for 2 cuts per crossbar, 4 taps I understand. But if you are being charged 2 cuts LOL. The tap holes run all the way through so they just measure and cut to length. But we get the point.p it all costs.

Yeah I thats what I meant its just not what I said. The price of taps increased, price of cuts increased, but there is only one cut per length
