ive never gotten 340 or 300 to a tank even when it was stock. Are you talking all highway cuz i do a mix on the way to a from work when i drive (22 miles each way in NYC 1.5 hours of travel). But NYC highways arent really highways anyway.

My manual says to use 91 octane for best performance. I find that using 87 hurts the gas mileage, using 89 or 91 will produce better mileage. I use 89 and find the additional fuel economy pays for increase in cost over 87. When running 87 I can hear the engine knock under heavy acceleration, just for a second or so, then the computer pulls back the timing and it stops. If the computer is pulling timing, that will hurt the mpg.

    None yet.....
I, like others, have tried the premium fuel kool aid, and it tastes good! My mileage is better with it (granted it's not a huge difference) but the engine just doesn't have to work as hard to wind up, and that makes it worthwhile to me.

I have used 93 almost exclusively since I picked this truck up in 2011. IMO it doesn't seem to operate nearly as good on regular. YMMV

No, it wont hurt your truck. All premium ultimately does is raise the octane in the fuel. This prevents early detonation of the fuel while compressed in the cylinder. Its used in higher compression engines (which the Tacoma is fairly high compression) to stop the fuel from detonating before the piston is at Top Dead Center and causing possible damage. This is what some people are referring to when they say that their engine knocks at low rpm acceleration. The premium would help alleviate that...

Long story short...no, it wont damage it, if anything it will help. I rum Premuim 90% of the time
