Got my driver side stock spring out yesterday and noticed that the length of the Dakar springs from center pin to the spring hanger is a little over an inch shorter than stock. Called Cruiser Outfitters and was told that is how they are supposed to be. Got the spring installed today and here is what it looks like with the axle not attached and the spring just hanging, unloaded. There is a D6XL AAL installed. Note the shackle. Does this all look right??

Yeah you'll be fine once you get the weight of the truck back on it. Maybe just keep an eye on the shackles when you start putting back on the ground to make sure they don't invert. In the end the shackle angle will be close to vertical with those stock length OME shackles. The bottom of the shackle should point toward the rear a bit but it the angle will be pretty steep.

Oh, and keep an eye on your rear brake line. That thing looks SUPER tight in that photo. Hope your jack is supporting the axle and not the brake line. :)

Yea, bottle jack doing all the work :)

Talked to Bryce, said the same as you, Adam. I got u-bolts on and lifted that side and it looked like the shackle is gonna behave itself.

Probably gonna have to put a new brake line in

So, that shackle will flip and point the other direction? It should be pointing southeast, correct?

I ended up having to relocate my axle back 1 inch when I put my dakar's on. I was bottoming out the slip yoke on the driveshaft
