Hands down best "entry" AR on the market IMO. Although, it sucks they don't come w/ the bbl they used to come w/.

Just picked up a quad rail fore guard for it, an EOTech EXPS-3.0 and a sorta offbrand front grip with built in light and laser...gonna try to pick up 1000 rounds next week when I pick it up and just spend a few hours at the range :D

Finally got a scope for my AR. Didn't even have to spend a dime. My girlfriends grandpa gave me his Shepherd. It's exactly what I was looking for. Has optical zoom (if thats the right terminology. and is in decent condition. I just need to get up to the range to sight it in. What do you guys think? yse3yre8_c3f1f4c7c27852db5ee0d79afc6f37087b902d38.jpgenenuqev_63caaec652d45af336b900127a973804fa4e7a61.jpg

I don't know the eye relief on the scope, but I would try to move the front ring to the front of the receiver. That quad rail is not 100% secure and could affect your zero.

maybe consider higher scope rings. The AR's stock is on the same plan as the rail and you might have to scrunch your neck to be able to properly should and look down that scope.

Thanks for the tips. I just threw it on for a mock up to see how it looks and where I need to position it.

You're never going to achieve and maintain a good zero when you have one scope ring mounted to a non-free floated handguard. Keep both rings on the receiver.

I have a TRS25 bushnell that works well, has stayed Zero since it was set and co-witnesses perfect with the riser I put on it. great for 50yd range, ok at 100, but need to get a couple real optics. Just gotta spend more change once the next two are finished.

I have 3 PSTs - great optics. The 1-4x is on my general purpose carbine. I use an EOTech on my SBR.

I bought an M4 with traditional iron sites (carry handle with rear and front site post). Works perfect, however, I had to adjust rear site all the way to the left to get it to hit center. Guys at a local reputable AR store told me that the front site post is probably off slightly, and I can put it in a vise and hit it with a rubber mallet to straighten. Anyone ever heard of this? Want some other confirmation before I hit my new rifle with a mallet!
