    I work at an automotive shop for tires, batteries and wiper blades. A coworker of mine did this on a car and broke the windshield, it doesn't take much!

    It's an unwritten rule now that we put a book or 3 ring binder on the windshield in case it does snap down.

    It's amazing how well this works.

    Just crack a spark plug with a hammer and find a small piece of porcelain the size of a raisin or even smaller. Flick it with your finger at a piece of glass and it immediately shatters.

    I guess it's because the porcelain forms extremely sharp edges when it is cracked. These super sharp edges cause the glass the shatter with very little force.
