Truck tail step

Anyone mount one of those steps that goes up under the bumper and pops out to get up into the bed? My knees are shot, so anything I can use to climb up there would be welcome. I can only find them for full size trucks including the tundra. I tried to search the forum but had no luck.

you are talking about the retractable step from AMP Research, I am also debating one of these.

I put one on my Dodge 2500 4x4 that was lifted 3".

The step, if you need it, is very nice. The design and functionality are very good.

 

My knees give me trouble from time to time and I've just become resigned to throwing in a stepstool and bungying it down, so I might be interested...

These are universal and should be able to be mounted to the Tacoma. They are about $200.
They retract to hide under the bumper, but easily slides out for use.
Don't click on the "Click Here", it won't do anything.

 

That's the step I checked and it only shows the big trucks, F150, Tundra, Silverado, etc. nothing for Tacoma, Frontier, etc.

I'm wondering if anyone has put one on their tacoma to verify it'll work.

 

I could have sworn I saw one for sale in the B/S/T classifieds.

 

I purchased one from the dealer with my 2014 Access Cab and love it. It cuts the step up to the tailgate in half. Goes up and down with no issues. It is listed as BEDSTEP in the Tacoma accessory catalog.

 

Yup, it was a dealer add-on option for my 2014 as well.

Have one. It attaches using existing bolts. Took a few minutes to attach. Love it!

 

I had one on my 2008 Tundra and also my 2013 Tacoma. They are great, well made and super sturdy. You use your foot to lower and raise it. I am selling one off my 2013 Taco if anyone is interested. I had the dealer install it when I bought the truck, and took it off after about 1k or 2k miles so it is in excellent shape. I am asking $150 + $10 shipping within the 48 states. HERE is a link where I am selling it. Easy install, just two bolts directly to the frame. PM me if interested.

Got one on my 3500 dually and it works fine.My 3500 is high and hard to get in the bed.

 

I have the Toyota one. Great addition IMO.

Do you have any pictures with the tailgate down and step extended? Possibly from the back. Thanks
