Definitely not that. The snorkel will only happen if I can keep it clean. I might be able to make it work, or I could just have a new tube bent. If it's not clean I'll just rethink how I have my air intake routed and not run a snorkel.

Well good luck in that project. From what I have found cutting the slot and covering it with some thin UHMW or something is the cleanest way. Be hard to make it super clean though. Hopefully works out

Clearly you have not seen these pics. A giant slot covered with UHMW is NOT the cleanest way. If that was the best I could do I wouldn't do it. This first link shows it can be done pretty cleanly with a Safari Snorkel. The second link shows it can be done cleanly with a custom bent tube with minimal cutting of the fender.

so am i just not in the loop or what? but is there any point other than looks to add glass front fenders on a mt equipped truck? I was under the impression it was more aimed towards LT

Yea I have seen zam15s setup it is nice no doubt. Hopefully works out.

Just covers the tire more I guess..but really not substantial. Mine didn't really. And sure don't now.

Serves the same purpose whether you're long travel or mid travel. More clearance in the wheel well opening and covers tires with a wider stance.

I used 100 grit on my wheels. Would have used the wire wheel for most of it but couldn't find the darn thing. Keep in mind... Mine are not as flashy (or expensive) as yours, so I just used what I had around :)

Scotch Brite red pads work well.

Just need a surface that the new paint can adhere to. Scotch Brite pads might be enough. 220grit or higher would work too if you're just trying to scuff the original finish. I used a wire wheel only because I was stripping the entire finish off down to bare metal. I doubt there is reason to be that aggressive with your wheels.

Yep I needed to get some crap off the wheels and wanted a bit extra force :) came out real nice though.

I need some suggestion for some material to use to make inner fenders after I put on the Glassworks fenders. Any thoughts? I'd rather not leave it all open. Looking for something durable that will look clean

Get some thin kydex or hdpe and form it with the techniques people use for gun holsters and such.

Thats more of are rigid material though rather than a flexible rubber type that would be more typical of this type of project.

Does it have to be flexible? Kydex is supposedly easy to form, I assume you could use a heat gun to shape it. It's lightweight and tough as hell.

I could swear I saw a post in the last week or something regarding this, I can't remember which thread it was though. The LT guys had a few methods that looked clean.

In any case, this would be a good place to source the material and compare characteristics and find the one that best suits the need.
