Yea dual side by side, like DTFs is pretty sick since theyre cut into the bed and lowered, but I also like Rylee's DMZ setup, then I could reuse the tailgate or just add in the second spare on a tire swingout

How easy was it to run the lights on the grill? There are a few guys here thinking about doing it and I've given it some thought also, just not good with running wires and connecting electrical stuff.

Wasn't terrible, worst part was the backorder wait to get the leds. I did separate the grill from the outer painted part, just to make it easier to access the inside of the grill with the dremmel and make three holes. Wiring was simple, just clamped all the wires together and ran them to my clearance lights

Right on. How do you splice into the wiring? Just get the clamps that don't require you to cut wires?

Exactly, can't remember what they're called but they clamp on the accessory wires and then you clamp that onto the clearance light wires (green is + & white is -)

This is why I carry bolt cutters in the truck when I go out exploring. Theres always an asshole who locks a gate that usually keeps me from getting out.

Wire Taps, Vampire Clips, Tap Clips, In-line taps etc etc lol.

I usually just refer to them as "taps" and use their size color code (blue or red) to identify them (eg red tap/blue tap)

Side note: because of how they work, and their lack of waterproofing, taps tend to degrade conductivity-wise in wet and dirty conditions. Definitely not good for underbody/undercarriage use IMO.

Even if wrapped in electrical tape? Or the plastic coil looking wire covers?

Exactly! Crimp connectors are great but do have their weaknesses.

Even electrical tape isn't 100% waterproof in every situation, it can come off and looks ghetto most of the time.

Take it from a guy who works on power systems for a living. Our high voltage underground cable connections are often completely submerged in water for months or even years down in some of our manhole vaults. We use silicone sealants, rubber tapes, and heat shrink to waterproof everything, but for most automotive purposes, heatshrink is all you need to waterproof connections.

I always go heat shrink then tape. When I work on interior stuff I sometimes don't tape though. Exterior is always best to overdo it IMO. What do you use for silicone sealants? I have used liquid tape before with pretty good results.
