Thanks Joe. My thought regarding the floor on the Annex is that my son will be sleeping down there and being in desert environments, and knowing that scorpions and other yucky critters move about after dark, definitely going to try and enclose/encapsulate as best as possible. Ha ha!

Ya, then I would definitely want a floor. I used to back pack with just a small tarp over me until one night I woke up with a (very small) snake crawling across my face! Spent the rest of the muggy trip sleeping buried in my down mummy bag for fear of that happening again. Bought a hammock for next backpacking trip! Lol.

Had an issue with a grizzly in camp this past weekend, would have felt a lot safer in the RTT than our ground tent. Still waiting!

I pretty much feel the same way about them, but I digress... My woman especially will be loving the new tent.

    Define "issue" please.
I think that a bear could still get to you in the RTT if it really wanted to - at least if you have a bed mount like mine and not an actual roof mount.

Can we still call you "bear burrito" even though you have an RTT now and not the hammock?

Yeah, they will just lift the back wheel well and shake a little til you come rolling out. Like that last M&M in a bag of peanut M&M's.

Haha sure. I still prefer the hammock to the RTT . I keep it in the truck for the nicer days.

Haha yeah it kind of looks like it doesn't it. It's just a loop around. My friend was already parked in the perfectly flat part.

One came sniffing around the tent that night, I thought it was a moose since they usually come up to our tent and sniff it. I think they like the snoring, it's pretty much a continuous moose call. But I got up after I heard it mosy away and saw the tracks. Was tough to get to sleep again after that lol.

Sure he could get you, but at least it would take more than just a paw swipe at ground level. He'd have to work for it a little, giving enough time to shit your pants before you die I guess. Might get a chance to get him with the bear spray or mossberg first if it came down to it but they usually just don't enter camp at all. Pretty cool to watch, just not at night, from 2 feet away on the other side of a peice of nylon. Being off the ground is a mental advantage most of all.

I wish there was a way to hang a hammock in an RTT. I know it's pointless but I do like hammocks!

I'm going to be mounting my CVT Mt. Shasta on an All-Pro rack, with the tent opening to the side. For those of you that have similar setups, did you run the support bars lengthwise or did you cut them down and run them across the bed. It looks like it would require some trimming of the aluminum mounting inserts to get it to work if I run them lengthwise. Advice would be appreciated!

The support bars run the length of your bed, perpendicular to the "hoop" pipes on your AllPro rack.
