Wait a minute......were you THAT patient at his age.....20ish meant deciding between cold or colder beer and IF "anything" could wait till tomorrow...case in point...brakes have been "wet" how long

 

I got my rear drums done at toyota 5 months ago so the drums are still new.

i didnt know they were wet for 2 weeks, just thought my ebrake was out of adjustment.

i asked my parents for a new truck for my birthday, but i dont think thats gonna happen. so ill be fixing my truck this week and then hopefully meeting up with wes and wheeling next weekend

 

My best recommendation when it comes to rear brakes.....vise grips. There are multiple special tools available for drum brakes for the springs and stuff, but one of the only tools i use for them, vise grips. Lets you grab the springs tight and they wont slip.

 

yeah ill be bringing like half my tools home from work tomorrow so i make sure i have everything i need.

Im gonna pull it apart tomorrow night, do the seals and then hopefully drop my axles off with a friend and have the bearings done and then have it back together tuesday night. that is if i can get the bearings.

im sure ill be asking a shit ton of questions this week.

 

Then I'm glad me and the family are out enjoying some much needed R&R and wont be looking at my phone all that much tomorrow.

 

Old school is good ..but I like the specialized tools

the only one i use is the shoe spring tool one in the middle. The rest can all be done with vise grips.

part # 08611 never had a leak with it.

 

Well HF has the brake tool set for $15 and a seal drived set for $20, so looks like ill be going to HF after work tomorrow.

 

I'm ready for a little FL wheeling next weekend.
