So I'm certain my mpg's are up with the new tires, and it doesn't seem as much of a dog on hills.... Makes no sense to me, but the ultra gauge doesn't lie!

 

Those are big. 1% bigger then my tire. I was rubbing a ton a hollister. Ill do more cutting before slickrock. I still need a Cab mount chop. Those rims look sick. I wish we could run 15 inch rims on our second gens.

Also, did a fair bit of cutting in the front - just a few little spots to trim out further. I think I'm still gonna rub on the wheel well by the driver and passenger floor. Not sure I can even cut anything off.

Last step is to replace the fender bolts with flatter recessed hardware. Oh and need to cut a bunch at the front of rear fender, as a bandaid until I am ready to move the axle back a bit.

 

Yeah makes sense to me! So stoked for camping in a few weeks. I hope you also did a little more fender trimming. You def rubbed pretty good when we went to hollister, ha.

 

I havent messed with it since. Its not chewing up the tires so f*ck it!! lol

I'm stoked too. Wifey doesnt want me to go since she's prego. I told her it would give her a day to relax and not deal wit the boys (my son and I..LOL). We shall see who wins the battle

I got it pretty much planned out. Picking up some practice steel this weekend, and hoping to have the welder up and running in the next three weeks (need to run power). I think I'll pick it up pretty quick, so may have something put together in the next few months.

Thinking about some lights... I have $100.00 to spend total. What would you do? Was thinking a pair of hella 500ff to get mah feet wet. Any other suggestions?

Im a fan of the LEDs... The hellas will probably be brighter then the cubs for your money.

 

That's what I'm thinking too, plus I'm leaning towards the old school look for my 'old' truck

Blackdawg (and others) have nothing but good things to say about them with an hid conversion. Pretty set on the Hellas... Run em stock, and down the road I can add hid lights for more power if needed! Prolly gonna place the order tonight.

Btw, picked up an old truck hood and door to practice welding with. Thinking of making plates to cover the gigantic space between bumper and body. Maybe a hi lift mount to. For sure some light tabs!

once I get the hang of it, free lessons for all, haha. Very doubtful I'll have them by slickrock. I would need to wire the 220v outlet, learn how to weld, cut and weld light tabs, then install lights. Of course this would all need to come after the radiator flush, wheel well pounding, amongst a few other things. Busy week.
