Nice. I got my cab mount chop done saturday so all I have to do now is put the tent back on the rack and load up the camping gear. What time are you heading out friday?

 

Sweet! I don't envy the tent mounting - sounds sketchy! You should def look into a pulley system or something, esp with that tall rack. It's just me so I'll be bringing the little back packing tent.

Friday is up in the air. If I can get the whole day off, I'll probably head out with MJ or Jason. If I can't get out of work then I'll sync up l8r with you. What time you headed out?

 

Its not too bad to mount the tent. It takes two people though. Ill leave my place around 6 but Im already on highway 4 and only 2 and a half hours away.

 

I could meet up with you in Stockton, maybe we can sync up with Jason too.

Locked in to hella 500ff. Figure I'll mod them for hid's down the road if needed. For now it'll be a nice bit of extra light that wasn't available before.

Hey Johnny, I just got the same Toytec shackles the other day, bolted them up.. they don't seem to like to move around in the bushings, do you have any problems with yours?

 

Hmmm I'm not quite sure what you mean. Like they don't flex when you load the suspension because there isn't enough play? I've often wondered about that.

 

Did you tighten them too much? They should be able to swing on the bolt. I have the same ones and they helped my flex. I'm going bigger though.

 

I tightened to spec, I think it was like 89 ft/lbs

Edit: for the top... On the spring to shackle I tightened until I saw the bushing flex, then backed off a tiny bit.

 

I snugged my top one up but I made sure it still swung almost freely by hand.

 

Hmm. Maybe I need to take a look at that while inspecting my rig b4 wheelin this weekend.

 

Oh I think we are talking about different bolts. The top is the frame to shackle bolt. That should swing almost freely. It should be a locking nut on there so it won't come off. 89 ft lbs sounds high because you don't want to squish anything together and restrict movement.

 

Sorry I knew what you meant, kinda went on a side tangent. Anyways mine does have the locking nut so I'll try adjusting that.
