    Morning,

So its been almost 2 years since I bought my Tacoma, used, and needless to say after 2 years of ownership, im not overly impressed with my truck. Ive read a lot of threads on this site so Im kinda leaning towards I just got the lemon of the bunch. Ive driven it about 90 000km since ive owned it

Since Ive owned the truck, I have had to replace
3 tie rod ends (new alignment every time)
3 transmission cooler lines (2 tranny services from loss of fluid)
    2 leaf packs
3 CV shafts (one completely cooked, 2 others were just bad boots)
    2 wheel bearings
    1 rear diff
1 windshield cause of a failed hood latch
    parking break is completely seized

all that ontop of regular oil changes, transmission services and what have you not. Yes, I understand my truck has a 6" lift, however it sees mostly highway and very lite trail use. I dont drive it like a race truck. I kept up on maintenance at a religious level and nothing went without a generous amount of grease.

When I owned my little Ford Ranger (make jokes as you will) I never went through any issues like this and I drove it like I hated it. Had it for 5 years, no issues, factory clutch still intact. Only thing that killed the truck was the roll over down the embankment. 254 000

As of today for the Tacoma... my power steering pump is on its way out (whining like a toddler in the cereal isle) and it seems that I have broken an engine mount as well (rad fan hits shroud when shifted reverse). *facedesk*

I probably should start a second thread for this question, but ive looked around and cant find much on an engine mount. Prices on parts have ranged from 45 to 290 bucks (Canadian) and Ive yet to come across any information reguarding changing them out. So any information would be greatly appreciated.

    End of rant

    Do you understand, though?

I really don't mean to sound like a shitlord, here... but most of what you're talking about is generally considered to be "The Cost Of Doing Business" with a big lift and big tires.

Most of the things on your list could easily be attributed to the lift& tires as well as how you use the truck with said lift and tires.

Granted a lemon is a lemon regardless of make/model, but I'm having a problem with the highlighted above, how the hell do trans cooler lines "go bad" ? The rear springs I kinda get, but they usually just get the sag & your mention of motor mounts is a known issue for the '05-'06 models

Seems someone has just beat the living shit out of this truck for most the issues you describe...

Lift and 315's are going to cause issues.

I had 6" lift and 37's for a couple years or more and not one issue. Even on stock gearing.

No, its a fabtech 6" with the 2.5 dirt logic coil overs. I knoe a lot of you guys are saying its the lift and stuff.. I can partiall understand that, but I knoe quite a few people with the identical setup as I do and they havent eaten parts even half as bad as I have. Rear leafs didnt sag, they just snapped. My Ranger had a 3" on 33"s and like i said, drove it twice as hard as my tacoma.

SEEE he had MORE rubber and LESS issues lol. Like i said, more of a rant then anything... accept the motor mount thing, curious on how to change them... thats one thing I have never done. But im fairly confident its a lemon/ previous owner abused and didnt properly take care of the truck so im the sucker catching up.

Yeah, unfortunately I did buy it lifted. I didnt lift it myself... Im a huge perfection artist which makes me question who installed the lift on this truck.

Ive tossed the idea around of doing an SAS... which would eliminate quite a few issues, however, its an 06, some frame rust, blah blah blah... not sure its worth the money to switch.

Im assuming your asking "Do you know though?" and about the lift? Yes I am certain its a fabtech. Has a big ol fabtech stamp, compared the drop brackets to pics of ones off of fabtechs site, they are a match. As for the shocks, they are labeled "dirt logic 2.5" at the top... underneath highway dirt tho lol

I dunt know anything about all this but here's my two cents....
I would go with a dealer installed lift and 100000 warranty....unless
i say unless you're like most of these guys here that know what to expect when lifting.
There's a massive amount of things to consider when lifting or maybe not but if you know before you do it will save you money later.
    Just me two cents...
