Has anyone here every had there Taco stolen? Only reason I ask is because I used to have a 04 dodge 2500 and it got stolen 3 times in one year, and all 3 times I got it back, and all 3 times they found it down by the Arizona / Mexico boarder. So after the last time I traded it in on my taco and hoping they won't steal this truck.

Its harder to steal a new car and its probably also because the taco has a chipped key.

Not all the new tacos do. For instance, mine does not have a chipped key.

EDIT: for further clarification, only with the V6 model is an engine immobilizer available (standard feature). This is not an option or standard on any of the 4 cyl models, Pre-Runner, 4x4 or base.

Really? Even the base corolla has a chipped key, huh I am surprised.

OP, if your taco does have a chipped key, then you shouldn't have a problem with it being stolen.

Yep. It is not as hard as most people think to steal a vehicle with an engine immobilizer unit, at least for a professional to do so.

The only reason I got it back is because there were done running drugs or illegals over the boarder with it. And ever time the roof of the truck was painted black and the back seats were removed. 2 times it was found stuck in the desert because it was only a 2wd. Don't make to much fun of the truck it served me well had over a hundred thousand miles on it, and still ran strong as the day I bought it.

The chipped key/immobilizer will do nothing to stop a professional thief. It is just piece of mind for the owner and a money maker for the manufacturer and the dealer.

Coming from the honda crowd, i know people that have had cars stolen out of the garage with two tow trucks. (one ripping off the door, the other flatbedding the car away.

The only way to save your car is a trunk monkey.

Yes because the truck was white and the sheriff said that they do that so at night it's harder for the air patrol to spot them Rollin threw the desert.

I was wondering wtf this thread was about :p . I was hoping for a thread full of people with stolen tacos (as in they stole them)

But no, never had a taco stolen, or any car.
