I might be buying a 1997 Honda Accord 4 door from about 3 hours from where I live? 2 questions, has anyone towed an Accord of this age on a 16' utility trailer? Mine has 2 3500 lb brake axles, and I think it's supposed to be 77" wide? I need to measure first. Would you do this or rent a U-Haul 2 wheel dolly instead?

The most I've had on the trailer is my 1600 lb Teryx and a 600 lb quad all at the same time. Don't know about how it would handle with a car on it.

According to Honda the curb weight on a 1997 accord auto is about 2900lbs. As for the trailer weight should be somewhere between 1200-1500lbs so you should be well within your weight ratings. As for fitting it, width is 70.1 in according to Hondas website. So it'll probably fit but bet on having to crawl out the window once you get it loaded.

Trailer is 1600 so I knew I'd be within spec. Just was wondering if anyone else had towed a similar size car on a utility trailer?

I have done it with my 1st gen and had no issues. You will be fine. When you load the car be sure you strap it down really well and try to compress the suspension on the Honda some. Reason is when you hit a bump in the road the car will want to bounce a lot too. At least in my experience. So I try to compress the suspension some.

I took a Volvo station wagon to the junkyard on a car trailer with no trailer brakes and my taco is only a four banger. It was a little slow up hills but I never felt uncomfortable about it. If you have a v6 and trailer brakes I'd say go for it.

You are good. Very heavy trailer and no brakes. Only did an hour drive with it and no issues.

You should be fine since the trailer has brakes and appears to have plenty of weight bearing capability. The most important thing at this point is adequately (safely) securing the car to the trailer.

Thanks guys. Decided to load up the wife's 2010 Accord as a gueanie pig and it almost fit so based on the online specs I found, a 97 should barely fit with the gate closed. Just gotta crawl out the window Dukes of Hazard style... lol
