If by rack end to rack end, you mean turn the steering wheel in both max directions, then yeah ive done that. Both parked and jacked. No clunk either time. Only happens in motion. Ill prob do the lower ball joints for safety sake.

Yeah that's what I mean. Sounds like the lower ball joint then.

I'll give it another look over and probably order a set. Before I do, can anyone tell me if those wheel bearings sounded like they needed to be replaced? video of them is on post 9. (just so I can order two things at once)

    Thanks!

Update. So using the following video as reference, I decided to use the same method on the my truck

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqw85L_sMgE

I jacked up the front again and did this to the upper and lower ball joints (see pictures)
. There's no movement in any of them. I was really hoping this would be it so I don't have to do any more chasing. I'm going to drop my skid plate probably by Sunday to see if something is banging it. I'll need to get some impact driver to socket adapters in the mean time.

    Any other ideas?

Jack your truck up then watch the lower ball joint when you sit it back down. If there is any side to side play then you ball joints are bad. These ball joints are by far the easyest ones ive ever changed if you want to rule it out. 100 bucks for the joints and the same to re align it.
I guess you checked for a coke can rolling around under your seat?

Could it be sway bar bushings?

Check for loose sway bar. Mine was loose when I put it back on and it made a similar sound. Also it's possible something is snagging on the brake dust shield when your making a right turn. I also had that issue, but the pop sound wasn't as loud as the one in your video but it's possible. Try hopping up and down on your driver side steps, sliders, or door jam and turn the wheel at the same time, see if that will recreate the sound. Seems like the weight of the truck shifting when turning is helping to create the sound when turning right. Also helps if someone is under the truck to try and pinpoint where the "pop" is comming from.

Definitely could be the sway bar. You should remove it temporarily and see if the sound goes away.

Not yet. Will be taking it to be looked at next week. Although there was no play in the lower ball joints, one seemed to be leaking a small amount of grease when I pushed the short rubber sleeve out of the way. I took the skid plate off, Its still making a sound.

Dont worry, I'll report back once its sorted out. :)

In the mean time, I'd like to know if those wheel bearings in my video sound like they need replacing.

I know this is a necro comment

    but

I’m looking for a different clunk issue and came across the thread, and just wanted to say that by reading the conditions of your problem I was 100% sure it was sway bar end link bushings. My pride swelled when I scrolled down to see you discovered it haha
