    I wonder if he modified the truck first and measured for the shocks or just took a guess and ordered them before measuring droop/stuff.

    Ill send him a text at 3am tonight and ask him :D

    Except for the fact you loose so much when angling them. Inboarding will be horrible at speed vs standard relocation.

    I know no one locally who has inboarded shocks. They all just relocate the mounts, but they also like speed.

    4" shackles, inboarded shocks, no sway bar is pushing it way past a DD IMHO, but then again it's not his DD LOL.

    I was talking to him about it and mentioned he should use a forklift to see what his max/mins can be at for whatever angle he needed. He said he had access to one but I'm not sure if he went that route or not.

    I was also wondering if inboarded would make it less stable at speed considering all the LT guys go SUA and keep the shocks vertical.

    yea i don't understand why there aren't kits for in boarding.

    He didn't order the shocks. they were mojo's and he wasn't going to use them so ant bought them.

    exactly, its not his DD, and with 36's and 4.56 gears he's not building a truck for high speed.

    Right, need more sleep. Haven't tried camping/kayaking at french creek yet. The camping looks to be pretty far from the lake.

    For sure.

    I actually can think of no positive benefits that would lead anyone to do such a thing like inboarding, except getting used shocks cheap and making them work.

    There is only so much droop an axle can handle before the slip joint becomes un-slipped and most of the guys willing to push that hard have zero issues cutting the bed to extend the travel correctly. Before TW I always looked at inboared trucks and laughed at them and now it's all the rage. Even when Lurry did his we busted his stones and made fun of it. For a little more effort you could have a much better set up, but it would poke through the bed.


    Inboarding expensive resi shocks blows me mind :goingcrazy:

    It's pretty popular with the first gen guys... I get that you can squeeze a longer shock in but I can see why either... I'm by no means an expert though.

    mojos measurements were to the bamf tower, with an entirely different shackle setup, I don't see how they could be any help to ant.

    P.S. I can say because the measurements were taken in my back yard

    Your rear shock absorbers should be mounted as far outboard as possible as well, and in as close to perpendicular to the travel of the suspension. Referring to the location of the shackles above, you’ll want to rake the shock absorbers forward or aft-ward appropriately."


    Not only will the ride at any speeds faster than crawling suffer severely it will also introduce a whole new level of axle wrap to the table.

    Looks can be deceiving when considering actual use.
