Anybody having an issue with their 2014 factory nav unit suddenly acting like the screen was touched complete with the beep sound that accompanies a touch? Just recently my nav will suddenly pop on. Let me preface this with my screen setup. I have the 3 split screen, music top left, weather bottom left and map on the right half. I will hear a beep like I touched it, then the map will fill the screen and the target will start appearing and the screen will continue to beep and try to update the target coordinates. I thought this May be something related to the nav/gps until I went to the app screen and within my row of apps the 3rd one from the left on the bottom suddenly lit up like I touched it and pandora goes on. Which would be the same spot on the touch screen where the map is located on my 3 part split. Anyone had or having the same problem? And if so, any fix?

    Thanks

Your touch screen is broken. It works off of a capacitive matrix. One of the spots is shorting. You could try cleaning and if that doesn't work... Replace the stereo.

Hell I just noticed you are in a 2014. Take it to the dealer.

That would be the obvious choice if this was the entune plus unit that came in my truck, but I swapped it out for the nav unit, so I would guess that the dealer would be of little help.

It also does not happen all the time. For example, it happened on the way home from work yesterday, but not at all on the way to work this morning.

A Dealer Tech told me that they have a lot of problems with the Entune radios. Most of them just shut off, I never heard of this one.

Subscribing to this thread because I have the same issue, except a lot worse, in our 2011 Camry with the factory Nav unit. Out of warranty of course. It doesn't do it all the time but pretty often and it goes completely haywire, beep, beep, beep constantly. You can't use anything because the control screens will jump all over the the place. It even changed the language to German one time.

I can seem to pin it down whether it is due to the screen getting hot in the sun, or a physical movement vibration related thing or what. Tried everything, system reset, recalibrate the touch screen but it always comes right back.

I've had it happen on three different occasions. Mine is on the left third of the display, cause thats where the nav was, and it keep wanting to recenter over the spot. Mine stopped after about 3 beeps or when I pushed on the screen in the area (happened about the same time). Since its so inconsistent, theres not much my dealer will do unless they see it happen.

One thing I haven't tried, but plan to, is some sort of "anti-static" cleaner to see if that helps it.

I absolutely hate touch screens, with their horrible history of reliability. There's valid reasons why touch screen monitors were tried back in the early days of PCs but quickly faded away until more recently.

The heat thing is an interesting theory. Today was a cooler day and had no issue both to and from work. I'm going to pay closer attention to this.

Heat theory thrown out the window. Had a couple cooler days, and nothing. Although I cannot remember a time ever when it happened on the way to work in the morning.
