Trying to spit-shine that old sucker? You're going to need a lot more drool.
But, it doesn't look too bad for a 30-year old bike kept in a barn. Definitely thoroughly grease all your cables (like, penetrating oil at both ends and lots of working the levers/throttle to work the oil in), because they're likely to be drier than a dehydrated 60 year old hooker in the Nevada desert. And old cables always snap at the worst possible time (like when you're trying to merge in heavy traffic).

Yeah it's an 85 Kawi LTD 700. It's got 11,600 original miles on it

He had all the fluids and filters replaced, as well as all 4 carbs rebuilt and synched. It was running, as he said, "like a raped ape"

It has been sitting for 2 years though. He stored it right after doing all that I mentioned above. Gonna try to revive it tomorrow :) hopefully I can get a great deal on it

I agree, that car is pretty nice. Too bad there's some dusty pile of metal sitting in front of it :p

JK, I can't wait to see it when she's all polished up and ready to go. I sort of like that style of cruiser and with an inline 4, it should have plenty of balls.
If you have to ask, then I'm going to go with a no...

Haha I like the 67 cougar too!

But I think it'll be awesome all polished up. I'm thinking of blacking it out to accent the red, get lower bars, and kinda bobbing it. The ninja 700 motor should be crazy powerful, more than enough for me, the seat looks comfy, and it's got low mileage. Also it's shaft driven, so it should be smooth as hell. Hopefully it'll fire up nice and easy tomorrow and I can take it for a spin, see if I like the upright riding position, and if it agrees with my back

I always found that riding position more comfortable than laying on the tank. You might need a crash bar to rest your feet on though. Most of those would put your feet to far back IMHO

Shrug. Sport bikes are plenty comfortable as long as you're doing 60+ so that the air flow can keep your weight off your wrists. Lower than that, though, and they're aching after a while. My 636 Ninja was more comfortable for long highway trips than my M50, but the M50 is a lot nicer for the back road cruising that I typically do.

Would any of you guys be interested in checking out http://www.lmftnh.com/home.html. They have trails for everyone stock-wild .
It's located in Troy nh . You can trailer your rig there too.

I have a few more things to fix on my rig so I wouldn't be going for another few weeks.

Getting my front springs done. Driving truck with a shock with no rebound damping feels weird as hell. On a positive note steering feels much tighter with the new lbjs, and engine feels much better with the new plugs. ~65k miles on this set, and they were pretty toast. Basically no electrode left with massive gap.e3y3enav_ebc9d987a932714966af05cb72afbcbca8b32f76.jpg

Doesn't the 4 banger have those iridium plugs that are supposed to last 100k miles?

Maybe the new one, mine specs standard copper, 60k change interval. I used the platinum version of the plugs this time, just cause they were like $0.30 more than the standard copper. Only like $3/ plug for the platinum.
