    had quite the "what the hell..." extravaganza on my trip yesterday. took a small detour up a road just to see where is goes and found all sorts of weird things. not a lot of pics though, sorry.
    came across some land that had a bunch of old cars on it just rusting away...an old FJ40, a 30's ford truck and 40's chevy truck, 30's plymouth sedan, and two cars under tarps that I can't quite place. I think maybe they were porsche or ferraris - one had the 80's pop up type headlights and the other was completely covered but had a really low angled hood with high fenders/wheel wells. Definitely not something you'd expect to see at the end of a dirt road in no name MT! :laugh: I got a real "paddle faster, I hear banjos" sort of vibe from the place so I didn't stop to get any pics.

    Also saw a bottle cap address sign (miller light and bud light if you needed to know) and a plastic flamingo stuck in a small recess in the cliff next to the road....no idea how it got up there, it was maybe 25' above the road :laugh:

    BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
    Years ago I found a purple on purple 72(?) AMC Gremlin X with a tree growing out through the floorboards and a black with white lettering Studebaker p/u tailgate on the same road.

    i think you may be right. i found a geocache site that includes spots in MT and there is one near the road I was on. but why on earth did they put it so far out of reach?!?!

    I think you guys are right, here are a couple more shots. My Dad can tell you every car from before 1950, after that he hasn't a clue. Me I'm good with ahhh nothing.

    Not really sure where to post this... Whereas these were not "in the woods" so to speak, we took an afternoon and did a tour of all the Bucks County Covered bridges today. Since they all date back to the 1800's and all but two are still open to vehicle traffic to this day I personally consider them cool. :cool:

    There are a couple owned by the county but most are owned by the state.

    I was out Geocaching with my daughters two years ago and came across a small graveyard. There were no headstones, just piles of rocks and a sign explaining what had occurred there. Turns out it was a cemetery for a old mining town called Forest City, Utah (http://www.utahoutdooractivities.com/forestcity.html). Mostly children were buried there and it was eerily quiet.
    Being new to Utah it came as a surprise and an interesting history lesson for my kids. I went back to work and explained what I had saw to my coworkers. It turned out one of my peers had been the one who posted the geocache and knew all about it. The cache has been archived on Geocaching.com but here are the cords N 40° 31.314 W 111° 36.924

    I'm from the west coast so I don't ever encounter bridges like that, but what is the reasoning for them to be covered? Do they still cover modern bridges?

    My dads a geologist and is always out in the desert looking for minerals and exploring old mines. He's been taking me with him ever since I could walk and he has quite the collection of old artifacts, from mining equipment to Indian tools. One thing he likes to find are old bottles, especially ones that have the writing and labels still intact.
