That'd certainly explain the extremely worn electrode on that copper plug after a mere 65k.

Yup I'll be down there Thursday - Sunday for work . 6am-630pm . I'm in Southie . If you're around this weekend I'll grab them. Do they still have the legs to attach to the frame ?

Crash bar as in the highway pegs? And I found my CBR to be incredibly comfortable, but not for long rides.

Yeah laying down is fun for riding like a racer, and it was easy on my back, but I'll try out the cruiser style and see what happens!

I'd be in but nothing too wild. Don't wanna tear open an HT

Yup. They were cut off with a touch though, so the need to be ground smooth.

The new generation of 4cyl uses those (2T-r I think?). Mine (3Rz) is based off the old 22r/e and use plain copper.

Doesn't say anything about vehicles needing to be registered that I saw. And it's private property isn't it.

It does in the about us section "Please note that all motorized vehicles that are used within LMFT must have valid OHRV or state registration and be in safe working condition."

That's fine . I can always grab some tube if needed .
It's private land Denis . No need for plates . You could rent a uhaul trailer for the day . Get the pig in the woods . From my understanding it's like all wheels but a lot closer . Dave with the 4runner that we did fall crawl with in Newport said its a huge place and a lot of fun.

It's strange that your plugs have that much wear after 65k, if the engine is designed for copper. The only times I've seen plugs wear that fast when there's not an engine problem has been when a shade tree mechanic swapped copper plugs into an engine that calls for iridium or platinum...
You don't notice the engine running hotter than it's supposed to on a regular basis, do you? No timing issues that you're aware of? Higher than normal engine temps (usually caused by a burn that's too lean or engine timing that's too advanced) can make the electrode wear faster than usual.

Temp gauge stays right on the middle. I'd bet it has something to do with the cel from a gummed up egr that I just fixed this weekend. I that made it run rich, and I've had the cel for probably 20k miles

My old 1990 CBR was really comfy, especially for a sport bike. I took that thing from NY to Cape Haddaras, NC after college. It was a fun ride.

Nah, running rich cools the cylinder down, and excessive heat is what eats spark plug electrodes faster than normal.
Shrug. Guess it's a mystery. As long as you're not noticing a problem with the truck, I guess "Run 'er!"

1990 CBR's have more of a "standard" riding position than the newer ones, though. Less weight on the wrists.

Definitely, and they have a real seat. The only downside with that bike was the tank used to heat up on longer trips. The tank was basically just a heat sink so it got pretty uncomfortable after a while on a hot day. On a cool, fall day, it was like having heated seats!
