It's actually something that's been used for a long time. I've seen 7 trucks run them for years. I've seen them with an assist ram added too.

I hear its only really noticeable when your stopped. At idle. Once you start going i think you don't notice as much. And since its caged with bypasses the clicking would be noticeable

Tubing attached to the chassis with bushings on either side and then tubing or solid rod that slides inside the bushings. The ends of the inner part are threaded for plate work (or like the one above machined pieces) to bolt to, that is attached to the clevises at the end of the stock rack. Taking to force off the ram.

So it just helps take force off the rack when the tires send more through it when hitting a bumper or something

It helps prevents any horizontal or vertical force from being applied to the rack but allows side load which a rack needs to move. And to answer the question someone had about gear teeth in the rack going. That usually happens because the rack is flexing not from normal side load

So...pacing back a few days. You guys SURE love to keep bringing up that video...

It's probably useless to say this now, but just to go on record, I was extremely sketched out about running that section with my truck. A few friends (including members on here..ehemm) kept egging me on, and part of me wanted to just see how it did with the new shocks (untuned, not revalved since I put them on literally the day before). I just gave in, like an idiot, and went for it. First run didn't go horribly wrong, so I tried it again at 50-55mph or so, and it didn't like it.

I didn't have any confidence in the rear end without hydro bumps or SUA, I knew it was stupid, I'm just glad everybody was ok, and I seriously nearly had a panic attack if you ask anybody who was there when I landed and got out of the truck.

So you guys can keep bringing up the video all you'd like, or saving it and reposting it on youtube in case I ever delete it (whatever reasons you have for doing that :notsure: ). I just ask that you PLEASE take it as a warning to not give into pressure or try to prove anything, especially if you know it's probably a bad idea, because a lot of times, you might wind up hurting yourself or others or worse. I took it as a life lesson and moved on.

    That's all! Carry on :)
