    6" ProComp stage 1 lift
Hey there guys, I am new to the forum, seeing as how I just bought my first Tacoma today. I got a beautiful 2007 4x4 double cab with 47k miles on it. It has a 6" pro comp lift with BOSS 20" wheels and toyo all country tires. Unfortunately on my way home I started getting a severe rattling/banging sound under the floor board/console area on take off and acceleration at low speeds. It did not do this for the test drive or the first half of my 40 mile ride home. I checked around under the truck when I got home, shaking the exhaust and looking for any heat plates that might be dangling, but I can't see anything that would cause such a loud sound. It almost sounds like there is metal hanging at one of the U joints and getting whacked like a baseball card in bike spokes. Just curious if anyone may have an Idea. It drives fine with no hesitation when the noise is present. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

    Thanks

    Richard

It is a big dealership (Toyota) and I purchased a 3/36k toyota warranty...hopefully I don't have to return it and start my search all over again...

If you got a warranty then just take it back, they're obligated to take care of the problem

Take it back, but my thought is driveline or carrier bearings as well. Probably nothing feeling under there, with your hand will uncover though.

Well I spun it around the block and realized the sound was coming from the driver side wheel well. The CV joint is loose as all get out...at least its nothing major. Thanks for all the reply's!

The dealer should still take care of it.
