yep. pretty simple. It helps to have someone help you lift it off but you can have the tent off the truck in 5 min or less.

That's what I was talking about too.

If you look at the picture, the roof rails have four small bolts that would be used to hold the towers to the rails. The towers are replaced by four angle brackets welded to the frame. Just unbolt the assembly and lift it and the tent off (not the rack bolts to the tent) off.

Gotcha. Looks like it would still be about the same. Should unbolt pretty quickly.

So I finally got my new CVT Mt. Shasta mounted and tested out for a one night trip. I gotta ask though what is the trick when folding it up? I can hardly get the cover zipped on. Im afraid im gonna bust the zipper. I dont have the bedding in the tent but I would like to leave it up there but I dont see it being possible.
    Thank you.

Are you using the bungees that go across the tent when you store it? Should be four that connect from window to window that keep the tent from billowing out. Other than that I can't think of why it wouldn't close up.

I have the same tent and was able to close mine with two sleeping bags and two small pillows inside. It was a little tight but zipped on pretty easily.

I am using the bungees. I had no problems with the mattress out and the ladder off. With the mattress out and ladder off im barley able to park under my car port. But with the mattress in and ladder on I cant see how a sleeping bag would fit. I use the straps over the cover to cinch it down and im afraid those are going to bust loose some how.

I dunno then. Did yours not come with the annex, ladder, and accessory bag inside the tent when it was shipped to you? That showed me a lot of stuff would fit in there when it was closed up. Do you have the anti sweat mat?

If you use a highly compressible sleeping bag, down or synthetic, it'll fit fine.
What you want to do is take your pillow(s) and put them along the non-hinged edge then take your sleeping bag and fold it in half so that it's on the non-hinged side of the tent. Be sure all the interior bungee cords are in place and that all the exterior flaps are fastened. Now fold the tent being careful to make sure stuff is tucked in as you fold it. Use the two hold down straps to secure the non-hinge sides then cover and zip. I find that it's gotten easier as I've used the tent.

FWIW, I carry a small ladder to stand on that makes the folding and tucking part go easier.

    Not yet. :spy:

Its a prototype that is being developed by Low Range Off Road. It is currently getting some refinements. Once all gets worked out look for a full write up on it in TCT Mag in the future. :)

I can have it off in about 5 min because I used the hardware that mounts the thule racks to the tracks on the truck. There is no need to completely unbolt them then just about a full turn on each of the 8 bolts and then it can be lifted off.
