a few deputies have come in with them. they only make the 380, but i heard they are going to come out with a single stack 9 and 40. just wondering how many people have gotten them or plan on getting them. they are pretty nice, perfect concealment carry. similar to the xds single stack

Not heard anything good about them lately. Jam issues, stovepiping, barrel problems.

Considered the G42 for a conceal carry but I just can't justify spending the same amount on that as I did with my G17. So I've been looking at either the G26 for conceal carry or the S&W Bodyguard .380. I like the G26 because it's a 9mm and has more stopping power but I like the Bodyguard for it's size and weight and that's the whole point of conceal carry. I figure that if I'm in a position to where I have to dump a whole mag of the .380 then I'm in a situation that I have no business being in in the first place, lol

G26 + an extra 17-round mag from your G17 = pretty good capability in a small package. Just saying.

Yeah, I like how the same caliber mags work with all guns of that caliber, but again, I like the 380 for the size and easy concealment which is the whole purpose. I think I may go with the 380 as a summer carry since it's light and pull my board shorts down, lol. And the G26 for a winter carry since I'll almost always have pants and a hoodie on. Yeah...I'll just get both, lol

Have you looked at the walther pps? They are single stack in either 9 or 40. Great guns, shoot well, and very light. Can throw it in your front pocket and barely notice the weight.
Hundreds of rounds through without issue.

I may give those a look. I haven't had much experience with Walther's. My bro in law has a Walther full size 9mm. Not sure what model it is but be he likes it a lot.

My year-round EDC is a Glock 19. I usually carry AIWB at 1 o'clock using this holster:

    http://dalefrickeholsters.com/product/archangel-appendix-carry/

Conceals very well with just a t-shirt, too. I also carry my G17 in the same manner.

Extra mag is on my belt on my left hip at about 8 o'clock.

Word. I'm waiting until my daughter is older (5 weeks now) and we can get a sitter so I can take the ccw class. I'm waiting cause my wife wants to take it with me so maybe this fall sometime. I don't have any experience with conceal carry so I'm a little iffy about carrying a full size for the fact that the public may see it or something.

I've been legally carrying for almost twenty years. One thing I've noticed - especially of late - is that people are so inwardly focused that I could probably carry a rocket launcher into a Starbuck's and no one would bat an eye.

So don't worry about getting made. In fact - base your handgun purchase off of what you shoot the best...mix of speed and accuracy, focusing on accuracy. Buy what you shoot best in an effective caliber (9mm Para and larger) and dress to the gun. Not the other way around. Know what I mean?

Anyway, good luck with your purchase. :)

A friend of mine just got one of the mini 1911's. It's a pretty cool little gun in 9mm.

At worst if your gun prints, it just looks like a phone on your belt under your shirt

Thanks for the tips. I'm just iffy because I'm an F16 mechanic here at Nellis AFB and a few years back one of our pilots was at a Lowe's and he had his conceal carry on him. He went to grab something off a shelf over his head and his gun showed. A lady who saw it freaked out and yell "GUN!" and another person with a conceal carry ran over and shot him. The pilot died. So I'm pretty on the fence about having one and the public seeing it and freaking out even though it's holstered with my hands no where near being ready to draw it out. It was sad though. How easily people freak out and it doesn't take much reason for a select few with a conceal carry to draw it and become "trigger happy." But at the same time I can't watch the news without hearing about how someone was shot or stabbed every single day. I know I'd feel more comfortable with my wife and I receiving the proper training and carrying daily.

you might check into the Glock blue label program if you have a distributor nearby. I picked up a G42 earlier this week for $319 plus tax

Dang! I usually go to New Frontier Armory up the road from me. They give military public safety discounts. They are selling the G17 for around $580 and I got mine for $475. I'll have to look into though cause thats much cheaper than the S&W bodyguard I've been looking at.

I've owned 2 LCPs and a Bodyguard...i'm a Glock fan...they fit me...i prefer the G42 over either of the other 380s I've owned solely on ergonomics alone

Per Glock's webpage, New Frontier is a LE dealer so you should be able to use military credentials and get the Blue Label price

I used my mil id and got the G17 for around $480 instead of their price of $585. Would the blue label price be cheaper than that?
