Hey guys just did fog light anytime mod on my 2014 and now don't have my DTRL. They won't turn on when on DTRL but will when I turn parking lights on (night time). I searched around on here but didn't find anything that seemed helpful. I did the bent relay post to light green wire in the main fuse box with an inline fuse JIC. What did I do wrong?

First time I've heard of this but you have a 2014 so maybe something has changed? I'd double check your work just in case.

The mod in relation to the fogs works great. Just so I'm clear the bent tab has nothing to do with the DTRL, just the power for the fogs?

There shouldnt be cause I added the OEM DTRL kit on my 06' and already had the FLM and the DTRL's worked fine. I got rid of mine cause they were melting my reflectors.

Holy shit. Parking break wasn't on but I did put it in gear and it worked! Put it back in park and it still worked. Turned the truck off and back on and it didn't work. Put back in gear and it worked. Why is this? Thanks for the help by the way I haven't left the house today so I didn't even try that.

Evidently Toyota's reasoning is you don't need the DTRL on if you are not driving. Makes sense I suppose.

Don't feel bad though, this has had a few other people scratching their heads until they put the truck in drive and the DTRLS magically started working again.

Sounds like it all worked out in the end. Do you happen to have the link to the mod handy? I am looking to have my dtrl on all the time and fogs too (or at least when I want them on). Currently fogs only work with low or high beam.

With that mod you can have your fogs on whenever. With out it as soon as the high beams come in the fogs go off.

This is how I did mine. It's pretty strait forward. Just when bending the relay tab be careful as I believe some people were having an issue with it actually breaking off. When you bend it and get your wire on there it's going to cause the relay to sit kinda crooked which I guess is fine because a lot of members leave it this way with no problem. I ended up taking some snips and cutting a tiny bit of the tab off and then soldered the wire to it for a more snug fit. I also routed the wire down the bottom of the box and not cut through it. I did quick splices into the wire listed and added a 1amp inline fuse as well. Hopefully this is helpful.
